The Fall of Batman and the Rise of Joker

Sunday was not a good day for me...I was feeling down and spent most of my day after work in bed trying to get warm. After hours of mopping around I decided to rent a movie and since I was not in me I rented suicide squad.
I actually felt better afterward. The movie was funny and the story made sense despite the craziness of having villains being heroes. I actually thought from the trailers that Joker was the villain but no...like Batman he was a side character. I am not a fan of antiheros but it worked. Great acting from most part! Hurrah for Will Smith that showed Sony why he is Will Smith and why the first independence day worked and the second didn't! Great job to the squad that brought to life characters we weren't supposed to like but did! Hurrah!
now I have to rant...

I like Ben Affleck...I have said this before and I say it again. I like Ben Affleck...as long as he drops the batman cape...
I am not trying to be mean here...but seeing him dealing with the Squad in the beginning of the movie was disappointing...the only time I actually "saw" batman in that movie was when he saved Harley from drowning...and he made an ugly face...seriously...he has four/five scenes in the movie and that was it...

so imagine my horror when Jared Leto (a singer above all else) brought to life Joker...I felt joker in that movie in his four/five scenes. He owned the movie so much that even the real villain faded when he saw him.

why horror? well...There is no Batman without Joker. specially in movies. let's look back...
Michael Keaton's batman was a mixture of tim burton's madness and the heritage of what Batman was but it only made sense because Jack Nicholson's Joker was there. There was an equilibrium between the two and neither got diminished.
there was also an equilibrium between Christian Bale's dark knight and Heath Ledger's sociopath Joker. They both stood their ground and brought both characters to our days.

but it won't happen with Ben and Jared. they will either change Jared and diminish Joker to fit this jaded and faded batman that now graces our movie screens or Batman will fade...and fade badly because it just doesn't work.

I don't like this batman...it's spreading to the point I don't even recognize the character. I can deal with a old batman ... but this is not an old batman because an old batman has to lose everything...and ben walks like he lost everything but he didn't...he is doing an awful job and I just hope they won't change Jared because the next Batman movie I will only go see it if Joker is there...
