Just a shout out (wow I never thought I'd use that phrase) to anyone who will be in the DC Metro Area this Friday/Saturday the 8th-9th of January~
GIGACON. An Animation convention organized by my department.
It's the first year, it's very small, it's very cheap. $10 for both days. It's mostly an Artist Alley and there will be industry professionals there with tables and there are still time slots for portfolio reviews.
Our department chair is concerned that no one's going to show up, especially because there's going to be someone fromso YOU SHOULD COME, KAY? If it does okay this year it'll do really well next year when it's bigger. Next year there'll be panels and tournaments and stuff I'm sure. but in order to get that really going next year, we need this year to do pretty well.
