That was one morbid, yet pretty PV.
The beginning of the song, we're shown a funeral procession, walking through mist-shrouded forest. As the procession marched onward, we're shown the man inside the coffin... Hyde, singing, awake and conscious, amidst arrangements of white roses.
Awesome image.
The end of the song had the procession reaching the final destination... they lowered the coffin, and started to cover it with soil. As the soil began to cover the coffin entirely, Hyde closed his eyes, singing the refrain of the song, and finally resting for eternity...
What made the image so pretty (as opposed to eerie) was the lyrics he sang. It changed the image completely. The image, without the song, would be of a man being calmly (or should I say, one with no more hope for rescue) buried alive. With the song, it seemed like... like he really, really wanted to be buried alive. Like he willingly, happily, hopefully, wanted to be buried alive to meet someone who had gone earlier... morbidly romantic. As he sang the last line while closing his eyes... so pretty...
I remember, remember you
I remember, still close to you
No need to fear the distance here...
It only registered later to me that the last line about 'distance' and the absence of need to worry... was because he'd soon cross that distance to the other side. As my friend said about it, it's the kind of love that's romantic, and yet scary...
