Still waiting for my friend.
And I want to write down my dream, since I really liked it, and hope I can dream its continuation .__.
It was weird, yet cool... the perspective kept on changing. Sometimes I'd be one of the characters, and other times I'd be an observer, a watcher or a reader, like reading a manga or watching an anime.
The dream started with a fantasy-like setting... err, since this dream was weeks ago I'm beginning to forget the details... anyway. There were nine people (why nine? Dunno... that's the only number I could remember when I woke up) who were having a decisive battle against a demon lord... they won and sealed the demon lord. But the demon lord laughed as he was being sealed, saying that the seal wasn't strong enough because one of the 9 people was weak... and that he'd come back.
Then the setting moved to a modern civilisation, and I'm suddenly one of the characters. But honestly, no matter how I look at it, I felt like being in an anime o_O Anime-style drawn characters everywhere I saw... anyway. There's a boy... I forgot how it happened, but he was suddenly possessed by the very same demon lord from the other world. It seemed like demon lord escaped the other realm and came to the modern realm... except that the 9 people were also in the modern realm. But I can't quite remember whether they were alternate people in an alternate universe, or the reincarnation of the previous 9 who sealed the demon lord... anyway.
The demon lord possessed the body and took it away... his friends panicked at his sudden disappearance, then slowly they started regaining their memories from the other world. Suddenly, they came to know people whom they never even met... even though in the alternate realm they worked together to seal the demon lord, in the modern realm they never even met each other. But they finally met, and they began chasing the demon lord and his captive. Everytime they met, the demon lord would elude them, leaving chaos and wreaking havoc in his wake. And his friends could never caught to him....
The demon lord himself, however, was weak... he can't keep control of the body forever, so there'd be times when the boy would regain his body. The first thing he did when it happened was to find his friends. But he stumbled upon a terrible secret, and he was no longer sure whether his friends were really his friends, or minions of the demon lord sent to kill him. Among the secret he learnt was that his best friend may not be what he seemed to be... (slash alert...). So he ran away... one of the secret he learnt was that he was not himself. The person he was supposed to be, the memory he had, the name he had, everything; they were not his. They belonged to someone else, whom he never knew.
Meanwhile, the demon lord continued to live in him. When he's asleep, the demon lord would roam the world. When he's awake, the demon lord would be inside him, listening to his every thought, corrupting, polluting his mind... times he thought to go back to his friends, believing that everything must had been a terrible misunderstanding. But the demon lord would talk to him, suave and smooth, and in the end he ended up running even further from his friends, losing trust in his friends.
At the same time, his friends found a way to call his soul back (they thought he was completely possessed by the demon lord), so they prepared everything necessary for it and performed the ritual... and it failed. Because one of the vital requirement was the target's real name. And the boy had realised that the name he's using wasn't his real name, so the charm didn't affect him. His friends, however, were puzzled as to the failure. Some of them, anyway. Some of them were truly what they seemed, but others seemed to hide different agendas. Even the ones who had not had a hidden agenda... starting behaving strangely after their 'awakening'.
There's just this one scene which I think was cool. The boy's best friend (the slash-alert one) managed to track the boy down. But thinking that he always escaped when surrounded, he thought to try to talk to the demon lord on his own. They met in an abandoned church, and talked. The best friend asked the demon lord to let go of his prisoner, in rage. The demon lord answered, calmly, "There are times when I don't control this body. He's free then, but why don't he return to you? You know the answer." Angered, the best friend tried to attack the demon lord, only to be knocked down, and the demon lord disappeared again.
I think, that's as far as my dream went....
I haven't told you the coolest part. Like I said, sometimes I'm inside the story, and sometimes I just watched, like an audience. Usually when the scene didn't have my character, I'd be an audience but when the person I was was in the scene, I'd be him; thinking as him, talking as him.
Any guess who I was?
The demon lord.
It's pretty intriguing... I felt like living inside the boy's head, listening to his fears, his worries and his loneliness, listening to his thoughts, whether those he's conscious of or those he's not conscious of. And as such, I found it easy to lead his mind astray. I only needed to reveal himself, told him of his fears, ones he never knew he had, and he listened to me.
It was exciting, the thought of having someone completely following my words just by the pull of simple strings.....
Errrr. Anyway... it crossed my mind that hey, this story would make a good manga... and because of that, I have been starting to write the characters, at least so that I can remember them ~__~ In the dream, although there were 9 people, only 3-4 ever really showed up in the modern realm. I created the rest... err... now that I think of it, what for -_- It's not like it's gonna be drawn or written or anything.
...........the amazing part is that I felt guilty for enjoying my demon-lord role... a tidbit too much ~__~
