She had worked with the Montgomery Scott of this universe and she had worked alone. However, Spock’s tendency toward solitary work, pushing far past the limits of human capability and nearly her own, had finally paid off.

Lab safety suggested Spock should have someone with her. It also suggested a much longer series of trials - she had, in fact, performed only a few preliminary tests. But as she had worked, her sense of urgency had grown.

It was entirely illogical. It was the need to be with her mates and have them know her as she was.

Spock set the transporter for a slight delay and took her place on the pad. The familiar shimmer and tug of it enveloped her, took her apart into her component molecules, and reassembled Spock as Spock.

The flood of hormones, still in his blood stream, made his stomach flip - this was not the body for that. He moved forward but missed the step-down off of the transporter pad, fell heavily onto the hands he had automatically reached out to catch himself. He had, it would seem, become more accustomed to that body than entirely expected.

Jim. Leonard. He… required their presence. He would find them.
