Christine jumped up from where she had been sitting at the table, trying in vain to concentrate on a PADD.
Spock was right on time, as Christine had known he would be. But she'd been ready and waiting for half an hour, alternately sitting and pacing and trying not to watch the clock as the minutes ticked by.
Her wardrobe here was small enough that there hadn't really been much choice about what to wear, especially once Spock himself had borrowed some of it. It was an odd thought.
That still hadn't prevented Christine from spending an inordinate amount of time staring into the closet, completely unable to decide what would be most appropriate. Everything seemed either too formal, or too casual, or didn't fit quite right...In the end, she'd settled on a simple green dress that nevertheless highlighted her figure, and matching flats over her nylons. She hardly needed to be concentrating on walking in heels, on top of everything else

Spock did lead the way but also placed a hand at the small of Christine's back in a gesture meant to provide secure direction. She had witnessed it many times between many humans.
It was an interesting pressure against her own fingers. Fascinating.

He'd never said these sorts of things, before. She wondered what exactly had happened on the Romulan ship, to change him.
But she didn't question it.
"So is yours."
She smiled, and stepped out of her quarters, waiting for Spock to lead the way.
Her hands were barely shaking.
