Don't Call It a Double Date

(OOC - I think this takes place the evening after the OT3 conversation currently happening an entry below this.)

They had invited James and his Bones up to the cabin and Spock was glad for their attendance. He had harbored... not fear exactly, but an unpleasant twist in his belly to think that James no longer trusted him in any capacity at all.

After... everything that had occurred, Kirk and Bones had taken only the edge off of their closeness before showering and heading up towards the cabin. The cycle ride had been quiet, but then again, words weren't needed. Kirk was just happy to have Bones against his back.

Honestly, he wasn't sure what the dinner would be about. It was sure to be awkward, honestly. That meld with Spock, the conversation with Jim... and well, what had happened that night between himself and Bones.

As they pulled up to the cabin, Kirk stared at it but didn't dismount. He tilted his head, looking back to his friend, "...you still think this is a good idea?" He asked, brows furrowing.

"Yeah," McCoy said, putting his feet down. These people were a part of Jim's life, in a way he wasn't, and he didn't like that. Being invited here, that meant something to him, even if he wasn't sure of why.

His hands were on Jim's shoulders, absently, as if he were already trying to demonstrate some sort of territorial possession. It would have amused him, had he noticed.

It was a nice cabin, he thought idly, wondering what was going on inside.

Kirk flicked down the stand for the cycle and slipped off, glancing over to Bones. "Have you gotten to really meet them yet? Spock and Jim?" He asked as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his jacket, walking slowly towards the front door.

"Jim? Not more than in passing, really," Bones answered, "but I had dinner with Spock when he first came on board."

The surrounding land here amazed him, so beautiful, so unlike their little beach paradise. His hands were in front of him, fidgeting lightly.
