It has been awhile since I updated my journal. There have been so much that has happened. Where can I start? Hmm!
Lyndsey and I went out for a night on the town on halloween to celebrate our one year of being married. We dressed up in formal dress and went to Sullivan's. There was this huge party downtown for the kiddies. We had to walk two blocks to get to Sullivan's. While working in the morgue, I learned that on cool and crisp nights people do stupid things. They walk in front of moving cars, get drunk and play chicken while driving on the interstate, wave an unloaded shotgun at police, and (my personal favorite) report that their roommate has stolen their "weed" and they want to press charges. In Anderson, there was a some slight differences. People drove really stupid. The whole city seemed to be drunk. Hispanic teens dressed as Jehovah witnesses.
Needless to say, I had a really nice time with my very beautiful wife. I had to be at work at 8:00 a.m. the next morning so we went home. Around 11:15 we received a telephone call. Lyndsey's grandfather had died of natural causes. I felt bad. I know by listening to Lyndsey about death in her past that she does not take it well. I tried to comfort her. We started to make plans about going to the home going service. I didn't get to make it to my great uncle's home going funeral (due to the fact that my family told me the day before), but I was sure we was not going to miss this one. I went to work the next morning and told my manager that we would be leaving the following day. I felt horrible for two reasons. 1) I was going to try to comfort my wife while she grieved over a loved one. 2) My second week on the job and I was asking for a week off. My manager was cool with it, so I didn't give it a second thought.
We left for Columbia the next day. We unloaded our stuff and talked to Lyndsey's mom for awhile. We then went over to Marcus's house for a while. Then returned home for the night. The next days were really relaxing, yet different for me. I am accustomed to going to visitations, sitting with the family, and having lazy days. We did not go to visitation. There is nothing wrong with that. I am just used to doing that. Maybe because my family is extremely old school. Oh, yeah. I did have to do that when I worked in the morgue and funeral home.
I met Lyndsey's brother the morning before the funeral. He is pretty cool. He has a lovely family and cares about them greatly. I could tell that Lyndsey missed her brother. We stayed up all night talking. I didn't go to sleep since it was seven o'clock when we decided to lay down. The funeral was at ten o'clock. I am the kind of person that I would react better with no sleep than little sleep. When everyone started moving around to get ready, you could feel the tension in the air. But everything went well.
We returned home on Sunday so Lyndsey could go to work. I stayed at home and did some house work. I should have sat my ass down and posted on here. Stupid ADHD. It always interrupts me. It did it again.
Ok! Moving on. I went to work the next morning to find out that there was beef between my store and a near by store and the DM was coming to "squash it" (her words, not mind). The whole thing was about some stupid, first grade playground, he said, she said Sh*t. I didn't have a clue but I stayed anyway. Waste of everyones time. And to prove it my DM broke it down and said how much money the company was spending for her to be there for it.
So the 360 will be out on the 22nd. I hoped you got yours reserved before now. I am tired of people cussing me out because we are sold out until July. They should have reserved it in June when the reserves for it started. Now they have to spend 800 dollars for a system that is worth 400 dollars. It saves to reserve people.
I like the job I have now, but sometimes I miss working at Lids/Hatworld. I miss the constant useless knowledge you get from customers. I still get that now, but it is diluted compared to what I am used to hearing? I mean. You are not going to hear someone say "I'll chop you in your thoat". (It's not misspelled. He said thoat, not throat). I can here it at Gamestop too, but it is because someone is playing a game. No one ask for hook ups at a game store. But we will get people asking about a PSP 2. And if Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is coming out on PS 2. Oh yeah! "Fable is the best real-time strategy out their to date, next to Star Craft." A guy really did say that.
I guess it will balanced out later. Christmas is coming up soon.
