She was out of it. Savannah was touching everyone and she came close to peeling her shirt off when it got hot. She felt funny-- not herself

"I'm always handsome," I promised, frowning a little at the state of her. I had gone to the party for a little while, figuring it'd be like the parties we had back home, but other than a few drinks I had stayed relatively sober. No drugs for me, not with this new body, but Savannah looked trashed.
"Did you eat something, Savannah? At the party?" I slid my arm around her waist, trying to support her a little.
"Mmm,yeah. Brownies. They were so good," she replied. She felt heavy and wet like she was made of water and could just pour herself home. It didn't make walking all that easy.
"I'm tired now, though. I'm, um, I don't remember how to get home."
"I'll take you," I promised, frown getting a little deeper. The brownies were laced with something, clearly, but I had no idea what. It could have been anything from pot to acid, knowing this place, and I didn't think Savannah was the kind of girl with experience with that.
"I'll take you home and get you some water, okay? No problem."
"Oh, Peter, you're just the best," she said, draping a lazy arm over his shoulder and leaning in to give him a clumsy smack of a kiss on the cheek. "Just...the best," she repeated softly.
"I can be pretty awesome," I said, watching her to make sure she didn't fall or anything. Last thing I wanted was to hurt Savannah, or scare her when she was less than 100%.
Normally, I would not tell a pretty girl no when she asked me to dance. I was a good dancer, for the most part, and Savannah was a very pretty girl. She was also a very high girl and probably going to be a very sick girl if I didn't get her home soon.
I touched her shoulder lightly, trying to still her movement.
"Maybe some other time, Savannah. I don't think you're going to be feeling so good in a little while and I'd rather take you home, okay?"
"We'll dance tomorrow," I promised and if she remembered and called me on it, I would. I doubted she'd remember though, as high as she seemed. Maybe I should have warned her not to eat or drink anything but I had sort of assumed that since she was an adult, Savannah would know better. I guess I had assumed wrong.
"Did you have fun, at least? I got separated from you for a little while."
"Oh, I had the best time. I've never had so much fun in my life. And people touched me and I touched them and there was light and music and the whole house was melting..."
She did lean against him as they walked and she had to work hard to make it through the snow. It was hard and she hated it and it wasn't long before she huffed a sigh and stopped.
I decided to focus on helping her home before asking her any more questions. Maybe she'd just danced and kissed some people, but I knew that girls could be taken advantage of at parties like this and I didn't want that to happen to Savannah.
"Let's go lay down," I said gently, trying to tug her back to her feet. "But not here. Do you need me to carry you?"
"No," she sighed heavily. "I can walk. My head hurts, though. It's so cold and I'm so tired, Peter," she said as she started to walk again. There was snow on the edges of the boardwalk but it was mostly clear and hardly slick and though she trudged along at a sullen pace, they made good time getting back home.
"I didn't drink, though," she said, her words lazy and slow. "The last time I want to a party and drank, well, there was something in my drink. And my friend...he found me in the bedroom with...um, well...he got me home. Like you are."
"Nothing's going to happen," I promised quickly, not liking the idea that she'd woken up alone in a bedroom at a party. I guessed it wasn't my business to know anything about Savannah that she didn't want to tell me, sober, but I couldn't help but worry a little on her behalf.

"I can still hear the music. Dance with me Peter," she said roughly, easing up against him as she started to move to the beat in her head.

She still really wanted to touch him, though. Even through her coat and mittens she imagined she could feel the warmth of his skin.
