Once they'd made the decision and she'd talked to them both, Savannah was ready for the experience of her life. They'd gotten started right away. Juliet likes Savannah, likes the way she's soft spoken and that her very presence is oddly...calming. Helping her get pregnant reminds her of the time she spent with Rachel trying to help her, trying to give her the one thing she wanted more than anything.

"Oh, doctor, I'm just so nervous. I've got to know now," she replied. Nervous wasn't quite the word for it. Her whole body vibrated as if it was strung tight and had been plucked hard the day she made the choice and it was still reverberating.

"I can't wait. I've got to know," Savannah insisted. It was a terrible quality, this impatience, but she'd always been so and even though her daddy teased her for it it didn't seem that it was something that would ever go away.

She smiles just a little, and Juliet makes her way to one of the locked cabinets, pulling out the only test. There are instructions on the box, but she tells Savannah how to use it anyway.

"Pee on the stick, then bring it back out and we'll time it for two minutes, okay?" she says as she hands it over.

Savannah smiled brightly. "Wish me luck!" she said, hope filling her from the tips of her toes to the top of her head. She'd love to have some good news today. Things have been so sad lately that just one little sliver of happiness would be welcome.

She ducked into the bathroom to do her business and emerged with the stick, staring at the little window as she walked.

"Doctor, nothing's happening," she said impatiently.
