[Portals are go. Lea hasn't actually been inside the new temporary Hatchery--he didn't really have the energy to find someone to get permission, and figured that waiting outside for news from Smoke was just as good. But he hasn't been by in the past few days. It's been a full two weeks now, and there's still no sign of Kagerou. It's less that he's given up on her return, however, and more that he's kind of realized that she'll be back when she comes back, and his location at the time won't have anything to do with it. Honestly, if Kagerou knew how much time he'd been spending hanging around near the Hatchery during their stay in the Wilderness, she would probably kick him in the ankles. Or possibly even the knees. Maybe it's time he beat a little sense into Toushi, and save him from otherwise inevitable kneecap abuse

[Toushi is sitting with his back against a wall, knees against his chest and chin propped up on the top of them. He's watching the cocoons intently.
Two weeks and she's still not back.
Toushi isn't going to let himself give up hope. Giving up hope would be unbearable. It would be like failing her all over again and he can't do that. Not to Kagerou. He's supposed to watch out for her, he's supposed to protect her. Protection didn't work out so well for him, considering where he is and what he's waiting for, so he's damn well going to sit here and wait for her for as long as it takes for her to come back. And if she doesn't remember-
Toushi doesn't want to think that she wouldn't remember.
Something orange flies past the end of his nose, and he glances up to see Lea standing there looking absolutely... ridiculous.
He frowns at him a little, looking almost as though he's about to ask him what the hell is up with his outfit, but then Lea asks him a question and he shrugs.]
in Soviet LJ, comments post YOU!seeya_next_lifeOctober 25 2010, 03:46:04 UTC
That's not breakfast. [His tone is stern, but not harsh, and he waves a hand--a silent 'no thanks'--at the candy bar as he moves to stand beside Toushi. Dropping to a crouch beside him, he stares ahead for a moment, then speaks without looking at Toushi.]
You do realize that your being here won't change anything, right? [Now he turns to look at him.] She'll come back when she comes back, but your moping around in here won't expedite it. You do know that, right?
Bears. They will fuck you up. >:|seeya_next_lifeOctober 25 2010, 04:14:15 UTC
Why? [He's still looking at him.] Why do you have to be here?
[A pause, and he inclines his chin a bit.] I only ask because I wonder what it is about her that gave you the impression she expected you to stop living your life to wait for hers to resume...
That's not an answer. [His gaze is reproachful now.] Look, Toushi, I ain't gonna tell you what to do--I ain't your ma--but don't you think this is getting a little out of hand? You've been here almost all day like every day for the past two weeks. You were skinny before, but if you keep this up, you're gonna have to start borrowing my clothes.
[There's something strangely familiar about this conversation, though it feels slightly backwards... Hm...]
i did not know bears were so culinarily conscious!seeya_next_lifeOctober 26 2010, 11:18:35 UTC
[Lying to your friends. You're doing it wrong.]
I fail to see how she's even gonna recognize you, with those dark circles under your eyes and that hunch in your back from scrunching against the wall for hours on end. [He squints one eye and shifts where he's crouched beside Toushi, his lips pursed and his brow crinkled.]
Low profile my ass. I don't think you're here for any of that crap--I think you're here to punish yourself for somethin' that ain't your fault. [Brutal honesty. You're doin' it... pretty well, akshully.] So how about we cut the martyr game and you go eat a cheeseburger and take a nap and quit running headfirst into walls you built yourself?
I thought his mum's name was Masaki... :|aseeya_next_lifeNovember 1 2010, 06:57:50 UTC
[Lea is not impressed by your angryface.]
Don't I? I think I know exactly what I'm talking about, and I think your reaction more than proves it. What I wanna know is why you think this is what she'd want. [Have a sharply arched eyebrow.] It's been like two weeks, Toushi. I ain't sayin' she's not coming back, but at this point, I think there's really no point in waiting here for it. You look like hell.
[A pause.]
You really think she's gonna wanna see you like this?

Yeah, I know. But I'm gonna be here when she comes back, Lea. I have to be.
[He doesn't turn his gaze, even when Lea does.]
I let her down. The least I can do is be here to greet her.

The feeling that he'd let her down before and failed her before was almost overwhelming. It gnawed at him.]
It's just something I have to do.

[His grip on his knees shifts slightly, becoming a little tighter- imperceptibly so.]
And I kinda feel like keeping a low profile right now. So sue me.

You don't have a damn clue what you're talking about Lea.
[Hitting your friends in a sore spot? Doing it pretty damn well actually, please to not be doing that.]
I'm waiting for her to come back, and that's that. I don't care how long it takes. I'm not letting her down again.
