This weekend was supposed to be crammed with things to do, but I am coming down with a cold, which is making me tired and sore. I am getting a haircut and going to my cousin's graduation party, where I will see a lot of family. I hope my aunt and uncle, who live in Los Angeles, can help me with my plans of moving to Bakersfield.

On a related note, I was going to apply for a graduate fellowship, but couldn't get all of the materials in time. As a result, I got to read the letter of recommendation that our graduate coordinator wrote for me. Here are some of the highlights:

"Her outstanding academic work has both made her one of our top candidates for the program..." EEE!

"Ms. Solomon impressed the Graduate Program committee here in the Psychology Department with her 3.9 GPA and her outstanding GRE scores." My GRE score was outstanding?! They must not take smart people that often, I guess!

"We in the M.A. program see Ms. Solomon as having possibly the highest potential of all our graduate students..." This made my day, no, my life. It feels great to know that they want me there and feel that I can be successful. I worked damn hard to get where I am, and finally someone achknowledges it.

I found out that I am one of their first out-of-state students. That's interesting. They'd better give me some money! I also found out that I'll be working with Dr. Ishida, my advisor, and Dr. Boone, who studies adolescents and sexuality. I am too excited to get there and do what I love! Prepare to be shocked: I'm actually considering a career in therapy! I still don't know what I'll do after I get my masters degree, but I have a lot of options.

One of the two classes that I need to take is closed. I sure hope they let me in, or else it might set me back.
