It started off pretty good. Moraya and I went to Satsua Shrine and it was really interesting. I did real Omikuji for the first time and I also threw a 5-yen offering in front of the temple, I felt sooo Buddhist. Moraya cleansed herself in the smoke from the enormous censor before we made our offering; I was surprised because she absolutely refused to wash her hands in the well at the temple in Harujuku. I think she was just afraid that people would think she was a tourist when we were in Harujuku because there's a little bit of a ritual involved. Before and after the Satsua Shrine we shopped in the arcade outside, by arcade I mean large collection of shops not where you play games. Moraya convinced me to buy these delicious bean paste filled cakes they were making fresh as we watched. We were going to try to wait until after we ate lunch to eat them but we ended up eating them all before we found a McDonald's. Afterwards we went to Ueno Eki and fucked around until 9 or so when we started calling Casey. Finally we got a hold of her and met her around 9:40 when we departed for Harujuku so that I could finally get a taste of the Gay nightlife. I was surprised that Moraya decided to go because she kept talking about how clubbing just wasn't her thing and that I wasn’t the kind of person she would want to go clubbing with anyway. This like everything else, she refused to explain. But in the end she did go more or less of her own volition. Our original plan was to leave the club just in time to make the last train to Chiba so that Moraya could meet some friends she had made plans with for the next day and so that she wouldn’t have to stay out until 5:00 when the trains started running again. This plan however slowly began to change or dissipate as the drinking commenced. Eventually Casey was talking about how she had always wanted to get a room in the infamous Harujuku and how she was willing to pay for it just once and Moraya kept asking, “Are you for serious or just drunk?” Apparently she was just drunk because we didn’t stay in a hotel and Casey passed out about half way through the night in one of the back sofas. Moraya was very pissy at the beginning of the evening but as the alcohol flowed she began to loosen up, though as far as I know she still never danced. Sadly I had to dance alone for most of the beginning of our foray because there simply was no one there, I however refused to let this ruin my one and only night in the Japanse gay town so I danced by my drunk self. Unfortunately the gods did not seem to care much as far as my enjoyment because this is where the story begins to take a turn for the worst. So apparently while I was dancing Moraya was drinking, a lot. I was happy that she was loosening up because we were really getting on each others nerves through out the trip and I really just wanted to have a good time with her. Eventually she got up and started talking to the other guys in the club. Apparently they were all asian but most of them were not Japanese. I talked to one or few all of which were hot. There was an Italian there and I talk to him a little bit in Italian. They said something about thinking I was Japanese because I had tried to talk to them in Japanese and because I had my hair up in a pony tail. They said I looked like a samurai or something. At this point Moraya was getting really drunk and I had to keep picking her up because she was falling everywhere and trying to go to sleep on the benches around the dance floor . Eventually she met a Korean guy and talked to him in Japanese for the rest of the evening. Kasey had gotten up at one point and started messing with the foreign guys but had once again gone to sleep. Next thing I knew moraya was smoking my cigarettes, surprising once again because Moraya complained about hating the smell of cigarettes. This should have been a warning sign I guess that Moraya needed to stop drinking. However continue to drink she did and it wasn’t long before me and her Korean friend were having to wrestle drinks out of her hands and ask the bartender not to give her any more. She got kind of violent and kept falling down, when all of a sudden she started crying and ran out of the club. I followed her outside where she promptly ran down the stairs and fell down right outside the door and layed there moaning and crying. I did everything I could to keep her face from being directly on the pavement. I kept trying to talk to her but she would only speak in Japanese and say “chigawo” which I didn’t understand but now know to be “it’s wrong”. Eventually she ran back inside to throw up and get her stuff most of which I ended up gathering. Afterward she went back outside and sat in the door way again refusing to speak in English moving in and out of consciousness. While I was inside getting Moraya’s things Kasey woke up and decided that he would wait outside for us. However when I got outside Kasey was no where to be found. So that is how I found myself in the middle of Shinjuku, drunk at 4:00 in the morning with no knowledge of how to get back home. I tried calling Casey with Moraya’s calling card from a pay phone while Moraya sat passed out on the street to no avail. The bitch had the nerve to bitch about how many minutes I had used the next day. This is where I really began to panic a little bit, because regardless if we got home I didn’t know if Casey had the house key. When I got back from the pay phone Moraya still wouldn’t speak in English, but there was a random Japanese guy standing around who I thought I recognized from the club. I tried to ask him where the nearest karaoke was because the foreigners had said they were going to karaoke and that if I wanted to come I could; of course because of Moraya I had to refuse, but it was about the same time that Kasey said she would be waiting outside so I thought maybe she had decided to bail on us and go karaokeing. She says she doesn’t remember where she went but I have a feeling she remembers better than she claims. What I should have asked the guy was something like, “Harujuku no nakani Karaoke wa dokodesuka?” however all I could think of was “ Karaoke wa doko desuka?” He tried to call Casey from his cell phone for me and even called one of his English speaking friends to translate for me but it didn’t work. He tried calling Kasey again and got him, but all casey said was to go to the train station and wait for him but if he wasn’t there to just go ahead. So I dragged Moraya up and she said that we should get a taxi and so we did. At the Station Moraya slept sitting up inside while we waited for the trains to start running. We still had around an hour before they began to run. When the time came for the train Moraya wouldn't wake up and then she wouldn't listen when i told her we had to go to catch the train. Eventually I got her up but then we missed the first train and had to wait for the next one. Once on the train moraya went back to sleep and we missed our stop because, as with everything else I needed to know in order to survive in tokyo, she never bothered to tell me how the trains work or respond when I asked questions. So we had to back track and then we missed our stop again on the next line after that because I guess she was still drunk and she decided to take the local train which I now know stops at every station and is very slow. It took us about 4 hours to get home which was utterly rediculous. Let's just say that this evening sucked and sucked hard. I was so nice to that bitch and she never even said "Sorry about ruining your first and only night out in Tokyo."
