Okay now I am officially PISSED. Last week's last-minute f&%-up with the rescheduling meant that DVRs had no time to catch up to the new programming, so my DVR recorded Nikita last week. Yeah, yeah, old news. But this week my DVR therefore did not recognize Supernatural as new, and FAILED TO RECORD IT!!!!! Aaaaagggghhhhhh!!!!
I'm as pissed at myself as I am at The CW. Really, I should have remembered the potential problem. But since we were also recording Fringe, the red 'Record' light was on at 7:59 just as it was supposed to be. I never even thought to check because I was just so excited to see the Show back! And I didn't try to rewatch immediately; I thought I'd wait until after Fringe and the news. Aaaarrgghhhh...
So this means that the non-live, recorded ratings for tonight are going to suck, comparatively, because I'm sure I'm not the only person whose DVR didn't record. I know people set their DVRs to auto-record 'New' shows, and then trust that the Show will be waiting for them when they get back. Maybe even a bunch of newbies did that tonight, to see what all the fuss was about. And when they get around to turning on their TVs to watch this 'What-to-Watch' Supernatural, they will find NOTHING! Because their DVRs didn't recognize tonight's episode as new!
So, way to go CW. Not only did you piss away last week's buildup for the show's return with your last-minute scheduling fiasco, and throw the entire fandom into an uproar; now you have screwed with the DVR ratings as well, and AGAIN possibly scared off potential viewers with your incompetent handling of the affair. I was one of the few people not calling for your heads last week, CW, trusting that you might actually know what you are doing and were protecting our Show.....I am now rethinking that stand.
No love, Me.
