Well...
Turns out, it IS GM's fault my car burned.
My insurance company hired an independent investigator to look at the car. He said that it was either the valve cover or the valve cover gasket that failed, sprayed oil all over the manifold, the oil got under the heat shield, and KABLOOEY. (Turns out my car has plastic valve covers...wtf? I've said for years that GM's engineers are stark raving idiots...now I KNOW they are. Seriously, PLASTIC VALVE COVERS!? Geez. That's even stupider than putting the alternator on the BOTTOM of the motor in the 3.4 V6 engines.)
My dad called Pontiac today. Someone in their legal department is supposed to contact us tomorrow.
This could end better than I thought.
