Today is Hemi's first birthday. It doesn't seem like he should be a year old! I don't feel like I've had him long enough for him to be a year old. My baby's not a puppy anymore. Although, he is a beagle, and they are perpetual puppies ( Read more... )

Happy Birthday Hemi!!!

Bug was 2 back in September, and he's still changing colors -- but not rapidly or drastically. I hope it ends soon because one of the main reasons I got him was because his black saddle started at the top of his head and went all the way up his tail to where the white tip starts. Now his neck is brown. :( Oh well.

Hemi doesn't really have a saddle, he's just kind of patchwork, lol. My first beagle had one. She was also tiny...my uncle used to raise them, and they were all pretty much 13", but she was the runt of the litter, and she was probably closer to 10". She was healthy, though. Unfortunately someone stole her :(

Apparently, it's just not for me to have a beagle within the AKC breed standard lol.

I never get an AKC standard dog either. Well, I did have one Rottie, but the breeder made me sign papers that I would not show him. *shrugs*

I hate it when people steal dogs. They just don't think about how much strife they bring the a family when they do that.

Yeah, and I was like, 4 years old at the time, and she was my first pet. I didn't understand why I didn't have her anymore. I barely remember her now, mostly all I remember is that she followed me around and she was attached to me more than anyone. I know whoever stole her did it because they wanted to make a hunting dog out of her, when all I wanted was a pet. Same with Hemi, he's just a pet.

Though, Hemi isn't gun shy. Dad was on the back porch shooting for some reason, and Hemi was out there with him. So on the extremely utterly slim chance he ever does go hunting, he won't be afraid of the gun. *Shrug*
