John caught sight of Leoben -- at least he was pretty sure it was Leoben, none of his other clones wore shirts that bad -- and broke into a jog to catch up. "Nice speech, Leoben."

Leoben smiled slightly. He had been dressed more conservatively during his speech but after he had been happy to immeadiately be able to change into a red and white flower print hawaiian shirt that none of the other versions of himself would have been caught dead in.

"Thanks. I was just going to look for you actually."

John smiled happily as he fell into step with Leoben. "Well, you don't look like it's bad news, so I don't feel bad about having good news of my own."

"You go first. My news is the frakking best," Leoben said, unable to be anything less than excited. He had debated pretending that he had really bad news but he wouldn't have been able to pull it off at all.

"Has to be good if it earns a frakking," John said, grinning brightly at Leoben. It wasn't often he got to see him this excited, and was already wondering what news he had. "Someone else from home's arrived. He's a scientist, worked directly with Rodney."

Leoben blinked. "...uh...well..." Frakking had been involved but... Right. He rubbed the back of his neck. "That's great. Maybe he can cheer Rodney up then." The Cylon couldn't remember the last time he'd even talked to McKay.

"If by cheer up you mean argue with Zelenka instead of me every day, then you'd be right. At least Zelenka knows how to handle him." He looked at Leoben expectantly. "What's your news?"

"That's sort of cute," Leoben murmured. Or as cute as anything could get involving Rodney. He grinned as they began to switch topics to what was definitely more interesting. "So, uh, I figured out why Starbuck was upset..."

"Oh, really?" John asked, pleased to see that Leoben wasn't about to give him bad news. He had an I Told You So ready, in that case.

"Yeah," Leoben began with a sheepish smile. "She's pregnant."

John literally stopped in his tracks, and let out a disbelieving laugh as he stared at Leoben. "Holy shit, Leoben. Seriously?"

Leoben grinned and nodded rapidly, looking pleased with himself. "Seriously."

John laughed again, taking Leoben's pride in the news as a good thing. He closed the space between them, pulling Leoben into a hug. "Congratulations."

"Thank you," Leoben said, hugging the human back somewhat tightly. "I, uh, wanted you to know first since... well...you know."

"I'm the first to know?" John asked with a surprised chuckle. He wasn't sure why he was so surprised, though; it was stupid to pretend that he hadn't made a few strong bonds after being on the island for so long.

He pulled back, his hands on Leoben's shoulders. "I told Hera she was going to have kids her own age to play with soon."

"Outside of Sharon and Starbuck," Leoben agreed, not surprised that John was surprised but amused by it.

He chuckled. "I'm sure she'll appreciate your ability to predict the future."
