A lot of foreign artists are holding concerts here in the coming months, and I wish there was a way I could watch all of them. :P But of course since I'm on a budget (weee malapit na kaming umalis for Thailand! :D), I won't be able to. Fortunately I got to watch Julia Fordham for free in Trinoma last February 9 so at least I got to watch one foreign act as early as now for this year. Here's a list of all the concerts that I want to watch but most probably i won't be able to watch most of them:
1. Maroon 5 (March 5) - I know I said in an earlier post that this is one concert I would gladly spend a lot to watch it in front, but, goodness, a ticket that costs more than 10K was not what I was planning on spending. I know Mylee agreed to watch it if I get to buy tickets that are around 5K, but only the 10K tickets were available in Ticketnet the last time I checked. I heard, though, that Smart is selling tickets too so I'll try and see if they still have enough.
2. Incubus (March 9) - At the start I wasn't sure I wanted to watch them, but when I listened to their songs again, especially the ones from the new album, I realized I liked a lot of their songs. Again, tried to buy tickets for it, but the ones left in Ticketnet are in the seats right after General Admission. Sure, they're pretty cheap, but they're pretty high up, too, so Mylee wasn't interested in them either. :P
3. Colbie Caillat and Mandy Moore (March 12) - The timing of these concerts suck. :( Our flight is also exactly on the 12th so I won't be able to watch them. :( Sayang talaga. Especially since Colbie's concert is in Trinoma (which means it's free) at 6pm and Mandy's is at 730 in Eastwood, I would have had enough time to go from Trinoma to Eastwood. If I weren't supposed to fly out that night. Sigh... :(
4. Toto (April 3) - I remember in high school that one of the founding members of Toto, drummer Jeff Porcaro, had died because of an accident, and I though their album then would be the last. Fortunately, it wasn't, and they went through a cycle of band changes just to keep their music alive. Currently I think guiatarist Steve Lukather is the only original band member, but I'm still interested in watching them play live. For those who don't know Toto, here's a list of their songs: 99, Africa, Georgy Porgy, Hold the Line, I Won't Hold You Back, I'll Be Over You, Lea, Love has the Power, Only You, Rosanna, Stop Loving You. There are still others but I think these are their hits here. So, anybody interested in watching them? :)
5. Runners-up: Swing Out Sister (April 7), James Blunt (May 19) - I like SOS, not sure if I like them enough to watch them live, although I do know a certain number of their songs. As for James Blunt, I only know a few songs of his, especially since he's relatively a newcomer compared to SOS, but, it would still be interesting to watch him live.
So, those are the artists I want to watch. Now if I could only get the money to watch these acts... :)
Oh, by the way, Foo Fighters and REM have new albums out. It's nice to hear older bands that you liked getting together again because they're making new music (or a different version of their old music) and it means there's a possibility you could hear them perform their old hits live if they go on tour. :)
