Bless us.
It has been something of a stressful week. In mine own inimitable way, I'll be retelling the adventures.
On Saturday, June 6th, I attended the Washington DC Tarot Society meeting. That sounds so formal. Because we got together around 12.30pm, in the Hamburger Hamlet in the Crystal City Underground, started visiting & talking about each others' decks, ordered lunch, visited & talked through eating, have a FABOO presentation [this one was Tantra and Tarot] and then Tarot shared/visited & talked. Then, when our reservation ends (around 4pm) we wander down to the Starbucks to continue our Tarot share/visit & talk til around 6pm. I so love it!
From there, I met up with my friend A, over at Pentagon City [next Metro stop over]. He was returning something. I got there before him and wandered Williams and Sonoma, which was a calm place in the storm. MAN! Was that mall packed with loud, obnoxious people! We returned the item, and we left the mall for supper at some Irish place. It was ok, good, but no great shakes.
And off to Artomatic. It was nice to be with someone who likes art too. My last visit was somewhat hurried because the person I was with wasn't that enthused about art. We did three plus floors (out of 7 floors).
Sunday started off with me exchanging wet cat food. The picky kittehs didn't like the haute cuisine we brought (HORRORS! It had pieces to chew). So, back to minced wet food. Which we mix with water because Grim won't drink water, and now Valen isn't either because of the the water we mix into their wet food. However, urination is up! Perhaps something not so ill-suggested...
Tigre came down for an afternoon visit. And duly we did get supper. With A, who also came to visit over the meal. Cool.
Tigre and I went off to the Nomadic Full Moon Drum Circle. I had a lovely time! I'm usually not enthused about fire and drum circles. For me, people keep drumming their negative stuff into the fire, and don't take back the transformed energy. Which means there is lots of transformed (in whatever way) energy floating/flowing/pounding on my being like a tsunami on my being. this was different as it was not a specific Pagan/magickal drum circle. There was magick being done, but mostly by people who have a clue. I really enjoyed myself.
Monday is something of a blur
Tuesday was the Capital Pride 2009 InterFaith Service. Tigre again came down, we had supper, and he drove us the 9 blocks to the church it was in. Boy! Did it rain there for a while! He drummed, and I had a speaking part.
Rev. Darlene Nipper, and outloud Buddhist, was the featured speaker. Her message was about love. All things are possible with love. Things are very limited with tolerance, and don't go into hate! After her speech, for the first time, we were invited to reflect on what we heard and share it with someone during the reflection. As I wrote on my FaceBook page: "Rev. Bob [Holum, retired: Luther Place Church] and I were talking about the Capital Pride InterFaith sermon/speech, during the reflection, yesterday. To love all was the message, and we felt our shortcomings. It was hard to hear. As humans, in a[n] rational/OBJECTIVE only taught society: we are flawed. Reminded of love all, we agreed continue to overcome them, and have grace for ourselves, each other, everyone in the church, and the Universe. Love all!" I am a judgmental curmudgeon. Add to that I was brought up in a society which judges everything, and which teaches, imposes, and instills it in its members. Damn! It's even in my subconscious! GAH!
The service was lovely! And the reception after allowed me to renew some friendships. It was no longer raining either.
Wednesday, I went to NIH for another consultation. They want to do more testing. There isn't any other response here. Oh yeah, I found out I did my taxes wrong, too...
I had lunch with
myly_blue_roses on Thursday. I really love these lunches! It was a wonderful visit. Prior to lunch, I went and picked up my wrist splints for my carpal tunnel. Yay me. *said sarcastically* I took a caffe break, during the afternoon, because I deserved it. Then, I called the IRS. They walked me through it and it should be fine. *hope, pray, fingers and toes crossed*
Today, I'm doing for me! I'm cleaning my room, doing some laundry, cleaning the carpet spots (Valen eats too much, then moves), and being kind to myself.
Saturday, I'm reading up at
Blue Lotus Treasures from 12 to 6pm. Look at the new website! Come visit me! Come Shop! Afterwards, I'm off to Artomatic's 'Meet the Artists' evening. I have some artists to meet! Come on out from 7-9pm. Artomatic is on top of the Navy Yard Metro station (exit to Nats Ballpark).
Sorry this got so long. But I don't feel like doing cuts. Get over it.
Blessings on everyone!
