Short musings from an overscheduled person

Blessings!

Missed a day of posting, so I'll catch us up here.

The OHF Spring Ball was fantastic! The room was beautiful! There were 150 people attending! Of 15 tables, 8 were sponsored by organizations! (Becoming [2], Circle of the Crystal Grove, DC Radical Faeries, The Correllian Nativist Tradition of Wicca - Temple of the Sacred Arts, 13 Moons [2], Wild Honey Protogrove, ADF) The costumes were fabulous! The hotel food wasn't bad! Music, auctions, raffles! You all missed the SOCIAL EVENT of the CALENDAR!!! I suggest you plan on it for next year!

Kudos to Marielle (lunabaset) for planning and pulling off an AMAZING event!

I sold lots of raffle tickets, with fritterfae!!! I danced with anthropologia! I met up with old friends! Loved some of the new friends! Was jealous of some of the costumes! Wondered why men don't attend as barbarians, wearing only loincloths! Was there til midnight! Went to sleep at 1am!

I LOVE AN EXCLAMATION POINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woke bolt upright at 6.30am, on Saturday. Took my shower, got dressed, turned on the email, and found out my ride couldn't make it. Went to Metro and caught the first train to Alexandria. Caught up with my ride.

I went with ladysmith and four other people to the Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton, and the Grotto of Lourdes, in Emmittsburg MD for Saturday. It was lovely!

The Grotto had many rhododendron blooming, and a lot of azaleas. *SNIFF SNUFFLE* They were working on the Grotto Church, so we didn't see the interior. But the whole space was beautiful and relaxing.

From there we went the five minutes to the Shrine. We toured the museum. Shopped in the shops (one is religious, the other is handicrafts made by the Sisters. (Mother Seaton founded an order now part of the Sisters of St Vincent de Paul.)). Visited the basilica, prayed at the shrine, ladysmith got some rosaries blessed and touched them the relic of St. Elizabeth. From there, we walked the grounds, saw the Stone House (the first home for the sisters), and toured the White House (the 2nd home, school, and chapel of Mother Seaton), including the bedroom she passed away in. We also walked through the cemetery and visited the mortuary chapel there.

We left, tired (remember I had only 5.5 hours of sleep), and went to the Mountain Gate restaurant in Thurmont, just south of Emmittsburg about 10 miles. It has a fabulous buffet, with OODLES of desserts.

I got home around 9pm. Fell into an interesting and far-ranging conversation with zagone. Eventually, ninthraven joined us, we had cannolis for a bedtime snack, and we all went bed around 1am.

The phone began ringing around 10am. So, I got up. Here's my Tarot for the day-

Seven of Painting (Patience): Waiting for the situation to develop or ripen. Awaiting the results of your efforts. Calling for material assistance or reinforcements. Experiencing tests and trials in the process of manifestation. Assessing your resources. In the creative process: Straining to speed things up only produces anxiety, so get a grip and wait for everything to unfold according to its own timing.

So it is a time of passivity for me. Rest, wait, let it unfold. Works for me.

One other note, the right side of my body is rebelling. I have shooting waves of discomfort from the bottom of my ribcage to my knee. There is pain, discomfort, and limited movement in my shoulder and knee. It's been like this for a couple of days. Perhaps, I slept wrong, or I did something to me, didn't notice it, and my body is yelling about the accommodation. I prayed to St. Elizabeth. And I'll be good to me.

Off to get lunch, buy new meds, and meet friends for dinner.

Bless you.
