Oh my gosh, I can't believe I've been in NJ for 3 weeks and I'm heading back to MO tomorrow for Christmas.

I've had a great time catching up with friends, working on a job that actually requires some brain power, and knitting up a storm. I've hardly been at my little apartment more than to sleep since I've been meeting up with friends about 3 or 4 nights a week and teaching knitting on Tuesday nights. It has been excellent.

Last Saturday was pretty much a highlight. My friend Sally and I have a singer that we really like, Karen Mason. She was performing in Princeton last Saturday night but the concert was sold out. Now we have been to enough of Karen's shows that she knows who we are so Sally dropped her an email to tell her how disappointed we were that we wouldn't be able to see the show but congratulated her on selling out. Low and behold, she emailed Sally back and said she would give us 2 of her artists tickets. We were thrilled. The concert was awesome and after the show Karen noted that she heard us laughing in exactly the right places. I knew I was a loud laugher. Guess it came in handy this time.

Work is interesting. I was thrown into some major projects right away and I'm starting to figure out what I should be doing. My boss is great. However, it is a little weird to be in this building where I used to work. I just don't feel connected to the work or the place like I used to. Guess that isn't too surprising since I was laid off guess I wouldn't have the same passion I used to. I have tried to catch lunch with friends now and then which is a plus.

I'm loving knitting. The second Saturday I was back, I went and helped my friend Cindy in her shop. Plus I've been teaching again on Tuesday nights. It is so relaxing and challenging at the same time. The actual act of knitting is relaxing but figuring out how to read a pattern or learning a new technique is challenging and fun. I really like teaching. It actually feeds my ego a bit. That sure as hell didn't happen much working in Branson.

Monica, my boss is trying to get my contract extended to the end of 2007. The money would really be appreciated but I'll hate missing the summer on the lake. However, she did mention that once I show her boss how hard a work I am, there is a possibility I could work from home. I would love that. This job would be so simple to do from home. I only interface with people on the computer via email or q (AT&T's instant messenger program) or on conference calls. Keep your fingers crossed.

I'm finally done Christmas shopping. Now I just have to figure out how to get it all in my suitcase. I head home on Friday for about 9 days. My brother and his family are coming to visit tomorrow and Saturday. My mom and Bre will be home for the week. I can hardly wait to spend some quality time with them.
