Haven't really been in the mood to write anything in particular, which meant I kept putting this off. Also, my copy of Nayuta no Kiseki arrived so I've been spending time on that and getting frustrated at one level because I can't find a crystal.
Anyway
Hana no Mizo Shiru/Only the Flower Knows finished in the recent Craft issue, and volume 3 is set to be released on September 1. Still have no idea when volume two is being released in English, though.
First off, some non-BL manga; A*D -Angel's Doubt- and Olympos. The Olympos omnibus is really, really pretty (and since it's Yen Press, it has all the colour inserts as well). That said, Aki's work is always pretty and more of her stuff should get licensed. Or maybe I just want to read more of A*D, since scanlations stopped at chapter seven. And it'll be forever until volume three gets released.
Since I've only recently started buying Craft, I'm not entirely sure how common colour inserts are for the magazine, since it doesn't seem like it'd happen usually. I guess this'll be the insert for the final volume also
the cover itself is really pretty totally needs more flowers though.
The story itself seems to have finished up quite nicely, though a part of me kind of wished there was a stronger supporting cast around, but that's neither here or there.
I'm also a little disappointed that it looks practically impossible to fit this illustration into a winamp skin :( I might still be crazy enough to try, but it's probably a lost battle.
And as an aside; the Okuyama Puku story in the release was a one shot that looked pretty cute. Dogs are always cute though, as well as characters who seem to have trouble expressing themselves.
SuBLime releases: Awkward Silence (Takanaga Hinako) and Punch Up! (Kano Shiuko)
I think the biggest thing that stood out to me while reading Awkward Silence was the lack of honorifics, since I'd read the scanlations first. (Punch Up also doesn't use honorifics, but it didn't stand out as much since it was a blind buy.) That aside, I don't have any problems with it, and it's still an enjoyable read.
Natsume Isaku! That is all.
And last of all, A Liar in Love (Ueda Kiyo) and The Devil's Secret (Takanaga Hinako)
While I really liked Ueda's other two works (The Color of Love & Classmate) I'm sort of half-and-half with Liar. Mostly because the main character falls under the type of person I don't particularly enjoy reading about, or something. I mean, obviously the idea then is progress/change/etc but ehhh Then again, the two end up being really quite cute together, so. Half-and-half.
This is also the first of her works I've read that spans the entire volume, but I don't know if that really has any bearing on this at all. I do like cute one shots.
