[It's still too cold by his standards, but in the face of entertainment the cold could be endured. Alois watches Ricketts and his pokémon interact from a safe distance. It's about as entertaining as listening to Rickett's stories--which were very fun indeed.

[Alois hesitates. He hadn't planned on staying out in the cold for long and yet Ricketts was keeping him with his simple invitation. He wouldn't deny that he was curious about riding on the horse, rather than riding in a horse-drawn carriage or running from them.]

Grab a-hold of her mane there, and step up. Try using your momentum to swing a leg over an' don't worry about pulling too hard; the filly's sturdier than she looks.
[Alois looks between Ricketts' and the pokémon, delighting in the scene. Having someone kneel before him reminded him of a time not too far off. He smiles just enough to show his amusement before following through with the old man's advice. He wasn't worried about pulling too hard. Rather, he was concerned about falling off the other side of the horse.]

[The Ponyta lowers her head to bump against Alois's chest gently. Her fiery mane doesn't burn him, but she's much warmer than other horses.]
