[ It's early morning in Luceti and boy, is it cold outside. You can't really blame anyone for taking refugee in some random store in order to escape all the snow and freezing cold. Of course, in this case, anyone is interesting not because he's hiding in a clothing store but because of how he's dressed ( Read more... )

[Fortunately, Perry saw Wally enter the store. Suspicious man is suspicious. Why would anyone keep their face hidden like that? He must have something to hide. Being the secret agent he is, Perry can't let people like this roam free unattended. That's why he enters the store as well.

Wally may hear the slam of the door, but if he were to actually turn, all he'll see is a platypus, staring blankly into space behind him.]

[ Now that one's new. Wally leaves the shelves alone and focuses on watching the platypus for a while. He finally sighs softly and approaches closer, only to crouch right in front of the beastie. ]

Hey there, buddy. [ He sounds as friendly as anyone can. ] Are you lost? Australia is quite a way from here.

[The man may sound friendly, but he still looks suspicious. Can't be too careful, especially in a village filled with strangers. Perry blinks slowly, his gaze still on Wally. Must be a pretty old-fashioned guy if he still thinks the platypus is indigenous to Australia.]

You're a pretty calm guy, huh. [ A grin. Wally wishes he knew if all platypuses are like that, but he's a forensic scientist and not a zoologist. Well, at least now he can clam he'd seen an Australian mammal in the middle of some stupid other-dimensional village where it's very cold. ]

If Batman was here, he'd probably be able to tell what you're doing here. I bet he can speak platypus. [ A tired sigh. ] Well, at least you'd be able to keep what you've seen here a secret.

[Batman? A person who can speak platypus? That's interesting to know. Not that Perry would tell him anything at this point, but who knows? Some day, that may come in handy.

There's a moment of silence, before Perry makes his trademark platypus sound. It's not really a response to anything, rather part of his pet disguise. If you make noise at random intervals, you'll seem dumber.]

[ That provokes a chuckle. The sound is pretty cute, huh? Although he's not sure what it means, but at least it doesn't sound like anything bad.

A little hesitation and... he's going to reach out and try to pet the strange beast. ]

[Hm, well, he'll allow it. If only so he can try and get a closer look at Wally's face. But if the guy tries anything weird, he'll get slapped in the face by a beaver tail before he knows what hit him. Perry hopes it won't come to that, though.]

[ For better or worse, Wally doesn't know much about platypuses and so he approaches one in the same way he'd approach a cat. This means Perry is up for some backrubs and maybe some scratching on the back of his non-existent neck if he seems to like it. ]

[... Oh. That feels pretty good, actually. Before Perry realizes it, his eyes slip shut contently. He's no cat, but sometimes he does have a few feline traits.]
