Seventeen year old Zach merely shrugged before turning back to the little piece that sat next to him on the window sill. Hannah's come around sooner or later.
Except of course, she hadn't. He'd underestimated the will of an enraged Hufflepuff.
They hate if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules
Zach was ready to kill something, if only for the momentary entertainment. Who knew an actual hospital could be so dull. It wasn't the curse to the stomach that killed you, but the boredom. He actually looked forward to a nurse or healer or whoever to come and perform pointless tests on him.
A knock on the door had him turning his head, brow furrowing when he saw his ex standing there. "Hannah?" He was not remiss in seeing the remnants of curse scar along her brow. "What are you doing here?"
The young woman walked towards the bed, puling up the chair as she did so. "Visiting you."
The look he gave her said everything he needed to say without swearing. She didn't like it when he cursed. "Thought you said never again?" And she'd been pretty firm on that, ignoring him for the rest of the school year.
"Yes well," she took out the scarf she had started for her brother for Christmas, "Forever is a long long time and time has a way of changing things."
