so what *is* consiousness, anyway...?.

1 either the "outside world" is a product of consiousness, like a thought, (which would explain pretty much everything on the subatomic level)

2 or, as is more widely believed, consiousness is somehow a function of the outside world.

3 or, they exist in a reciprical(?) relationship - so there *is an outside world and there *is a mind, and one cant exist without the other - like M. T. said.. which i dont fully understand... he used that mirror analogy... which for me points back to the first one.. but maybe thats just because i dont understand it

4 or they are one in the same, which kindof points back to the first one too... the only way they could be one in the same is if the outside world was a product of consiousness..

pretty much, i would stick with 1... but the weird thing is that is the ONLY theory of mind (that i can think of) we didnt discuss in class..
and i know its an accepted theory cause Berkely said it, i think. its called idealism, i believe....

so why did he leave that incredibly relavant theory out of his lectures? i dunno, take a guess.... i hate our educational system..

i remember thinking things along the lines of idealism when i was younger... but i feel like everything in our education system is discouraging that idea, because maybe. just MAYBE, when we realize that we hold the power to mold and shape our reality, we have gained the ability to do true magic

maybe wizards did exist, once, when our mass consiousness was not controlled by organized religion and govermnent and media
