Kind of!

More so it's an abbreviated way to speak so that you don't accidentally get killed while you're playing. Typing long sentences in some games is really hard and time consuming!

So like.. 'rofl' is 'rolling on the floor laughing', 'brb' is 'be right back' and 'btw' is 'by the way'!

There's a lot more of them!

Well, now in most games there's microphones, so typing isn't necessary at all!

'Tis strange, but I can understand the reasoning behind it. If the message can be passed instantly, the time it takes to produce the message is more of a factor than the time it takes to travel to the receiver...

Erion's technology has nothing even close to this. It must use powerful magic.
