is this like home insurance where she could pick a different provider, or is it that everywhere would be this level of coverage? if so, this is one of those rare instances where the free market is on our side!

Malpractice insurance in New York State is not in a nice situation right now, so it's not a good time to switch. Right now we just aren't doing the procedure and I'm going to try to pressure them as much as possible.

I'd send it to the Governor, the Attorney General, the Speaker of the House (New York State), Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, the entire Democratic delegation to Congress from New York State, Obama (because he may unfortunately win), Michael Moore...

I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them at the moment.
