So I took a big risk leaving Hemlok, because playing music live had become such a big part of my life, and I ended up missing it a lot. But, after 7 months of being out, I am getting back into the swing of things, and this time, doing things I really want to do.
Seeking Quiddity remains a studio project until I have an album, at which point I will make a decision on if I want to go through all the trouble of gigging live. I am now singing for Ron Pacheco and the Seven Below Band, a Jazz/Blues/R&B project. It's surprisingly really fun. We played our first gig at the Attleboro Winter Night Festival, and I had a blast. I think "Summertime" is one of my best vocal performances on record. And now I have joined up with a not-yet-named cover band, that is exactly what I was looking for. We are covering a lot of 90's music, and some things nobody covers, like I Believe In A Thing Called Love - The Darkness, Supermassive Black Hole - Muse, Kissed By A Rose - Seal, a metal version of Elanor Rigby - The Beatles, and a bunch more. I am psyched, and the guys I am working with are so much fun, drama free, awesome. Plus according to my drummer John, who has played in a cover band before, we would be playing 3 hour sets, and making like $100 a person, per gig, and probably gigging out twice a week. If that happens I'll be thrilled. Actually making money to have fun? Incredible. Plus people will love the music, and it will be easier to get people out if we are playing 3 hours. instead of 40 minutes. No more 11 minute covers of songs nobody has heard of. And we all like the same music generally, so there are no conflicts.
Anyway, thats the update. ciao.
