Elements of Covenant - The Rainbow

Genesis 9
12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

I was wondering about rainbows not long ago, and why the rainbow was chosen by God as a token in His covenant. I haven't gotten an answer as of yet....but in looking at rainbows I can clearly see God in them. Type your They take on a deeper meaning for me when I look at them from a biblical and spiritual point of view. I'm reminded of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost....There is a trinity within the rainbow as it has three main colors, red, blue, and green. There is also perfection, as the three main colors can be broken down into seven (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet). I believe seven is the lord's number of perfection.  But you can't just look up in the sky and see a rainbow whenever you want, conditions in the atmosphere must be right for a rainbow to be revealed. The sun behind you, the rain somewhere in front...Just as we can't approach God anyway we like and expect Him to reveal Himself to us. There are conditions that have to be met. The trinity of the rainbow and the more intricate colors cannot be seen unless filtered through tiny droplets of rain. (Water is one of the representations of the Holy Ghost) We cannot know God, much less know the intimate things of His heart, His covenant, unless we know Him through His Spirit. Jesus Christ and salvation don't even become reality until we receive by faith as revealed through the Holy Ghost.

I believe an entire rainbow and not just a part becomes visible at an angle of around 40" from the horizon when the conditions are right. There are aspects of our heavenly Father that can only be seen when looked at from a spiritual angle. Not an angle of religion, theology, philosophy, science, history, or poetry.... Sometimes you might be able to see a little of Him from different angles, but He only uses that to draw you in to the spiritual angle where He begins to reveal Himself to your heart in fullness. It also helps if your actually seeking Him. There have been many times where I've been walking outside on the street with friends, and a beautiful rainbow would appear in the sky. I would take notice, but my friends (and practically everybody else around me) would be to busy to look up and see it or even care. I wonder how many times God reveals Himself to us a day, wanting us to notice Him, spend time with Him, talk to Him.....but we're just to busy.

You might be able to see a second rainbow above the main one in which the colors are in reverse order....

Ecclesiastes 1
9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

He knows the beginning from the end, the end from the beginning, and everything in between. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last. The Lord will position us in the right place, at the right time, in the right atmosphere, with our hearts in the right condition to receive what the Spirit reveals if we just ask Him in faith and in love.

Psalm 25
14 The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.

Blessings to all.
