... I wrote some reminder notes as our State Fair day rolled along and planned several sentences that I'd use in my post about yesterday at the Fair. Today did not go according to my plan for getting that done. (Didn't get the bills written out either.)
Today we picked up a new Foster Dog. Shadow is supposedly 9 years old. Supposedly neutered too but, if so, they grew back. You've probably all seen the pictures of our two keeshond dogs, and might remember that they are quite fluffly with a long outer coat of hair. Shadow is also a keesie, but his under and outer coats were both so full of burrs, you couldn't pet him. Thus far, we've put in a couple of hours combing, picking, clipping and have managed to get much of it out. Our friend helped us for about 3/4 of an hour. Still much to get out and we'll be taking him to a bathing facility tomorrow after my platelet donation.
Those little speckles all over are burrs and other seeds--many already gone by this point.
For having three people he doesn't know tugging and towering and clipping and etc on him, he's been amazingly accepting. Of course, he's panting constantly. Poor baby.
He has been an outdoor dog all his life and appears uncomfortable staying in the house. There will be much more to tell about this sweet beautiful boy. For now, I've had a couple of long days and am tired.
Our day at the State Fair was very fine. It deserves a much more thorough post, and I'll try to get one up at some time.
