Dizzydame "I can't believe you!"
She just shrugs, not feeling the need to defend herself. Daniel's angry, madder than she's ever seen him, after catching her with Mitchell. Not that there is any reason for him to care. After months of throwing herself at him and the constant rejection she found herself seeking companionship elsewhere. Somewhere that offered kindness and understanding. It was so strange to be greeted with a happy grin and a soft touch instead of a scowl.
"I don't think that you have to… Although, it's true." She shrugs again and goes back to her work.
It doesn't make sense her and Mitchell. They're so different, so opposite. She's wild and unpredictable and he's all about orders and following rules. "He doesn't love you, either."
"Perhaps, Daniel, comments like that are why I gave up on us?" She wasn't going to let it get to her. "Why are you jealous? I spent months making myself available. Months tossing innuendo at you. It couldn't have been more obvious that I was willing."
"I'm not jealous." He clearly is. He knows it, she knows it, but fuck if he's going to speak the words out loud. She rolls her eyes at him and it makes him angrier. "I'm not!" The words are louder and one of the passing airmen looks in.
"I'm fine." She waves him off and he looks at Daniel for a moment longer before he decides that he must be harmless. "You're worrying people now."
Daniel moves across their office and grips her biceps. Maybe a bit harder than even he means to. She flinches but doesn't say anything. "You're the one throwing yourself at the whole team. Who's next? Teal'c?"
"As a matter of fact… Muscles is quite… delicious." She's egging him on now. But it was a mistake and she wishes that she could take it back as his eyes almost blaze with rage.
He's sputtering now, imagining her moving from Mitchell to Teal'c. She was his. "You belong to me."
Now she's just as mad. She pushes at his chest trying to free herself from his grip. "I belong to no one. Not you. Not Mitchell. Not the SGC. Not the Gou'ald. No one owns me."
He squeezes harder and she lets out a squeak of pain that she tried to hold back. "Just try to leave. See how that works out for you."
Vala does the only think that she can think of. She brings her knee up, swift and sure, right into his balls. He's shocked and then the pain takes over. Daniel releases her to hold his crotch, hunching over in pain.
"Fuck you, Daniel Jackson." She doesn't look back, she walks out of the office and turns down the hallway. Her feet are speeding up, she doesn't want to be close enough to his office so he can hear her. She's mad, but more than that, she's hurt. No wonder he kept turning her away. He just thinks of her as a whore. She'd spent enough of her life as a slave. Her body owned by a snake. She's not going back to that. No one, not ever, will possess her again.
She isn't paying attention to where she's going. Fighting with people she considers friends wears on her and when she looks up she finds herself outside his office. Cameron. His name brings a small smile to her face before she sniffles back the impending tears. She tests the door knob and it's open so she lets herself in.
It's not like they've been together long. It's only been a few weeks, but it feels like it's been forever. Sometimes he just gets her. And when he doesn't he just lets her be herself. He doesn't judge her… He listens.
"Baby, what's wrong." A very depressed looking Vala just entered his office. Mission reports can wait. He drops what he's doing and meets her at the entrance closing the door behind her. "Hey, honey…"
She stifles another sob and looks up at him. The amount of concern breaks her. He opens his arms and she falls against him. Vala takes the comfort that he's offering and already she's feeling better. His hands are soothing as he rubs her back. Sometimes venturing upwards to stroke her head.
"I had an argument." She doesn't want to talk about it.
Cam kisses the top of her head. "Wanna tell me about it?"
"No." She shakes her head against his chest and he tightens his grip on her.
"You sure? Sometimes that helps." He's not sure if he really wants to hear what set her into this state of mind. It's not often that Vala has a bit of a break down. "Maybe I can help."
"You already are." Just feeling like someone, anyone, cares for her as she is. That helps. "I can't change."
"Well, honey, I'm not sure who's asking you too, but I'm certainly not one of them. If you changed too much, you wouldn't be the Vala we all know and love." He's careful with the word love. Past friendship he's still unsure about where this is going. But he does love her as a friend. He'd protect her from everything, if he could. Not that Vala would appreciate that thought. It doesn't stop his old school southern gentleman roots from showing through when she's upset.
"Maybe…" She wraps her arms around his waist, hugging him back now instead of just taking the comfort. "This is nice."
There's a calm starting to surround her. Her muscles are relaxing under his touch and she's starting to breathe more normally. "Good." He rubs at her biceps while pulling her back to look at her face. He sees a flinch and now he really wants to know what happened. He does it again and she looks away as he gets to the same area. "You're hurt."
He's unbuttoning the front of her BDU top before she can say not too and the bruises forming on her arms from Daniels grip make her look at the floor. "It's nothing. Nothing that I haven't had before."
"Who did that?" He doesn't want to fight with her and she seems to be on the receiving end of enough anger lately so he tries to control his temper. "Vala?"
"Just hold me again…" He's so careful as he tugs her back against his chest. "It's no big deal."
"Vala, someone hurt you. Purposefully-"
"No… I don't think it was on purpose." She doesn't know why she's giving him the benefit of the doubt. Besides the fact that he's her friend and while she doesn't understand exactly why he's jealous in this case, she does understand what that emotion can do to a person. She felt it often when se was Qetesh. "There was no thought in it. It just happened."
Cam's frustrated. Somedays he's driven up the wall by her mannerisms. He doesn't know how she can just forgive this. "I want to make sure this doesn't…" He stops himself, not wanting to sound too controlling. No matter how much he wants to hurt who ever did that to her. "When you are hurt, it hurts me too."
She tips her head up and places a hand on his cheek. "It's really alright." She stands up on her toes and kisses his mouth. Just a light, soothing kiss. "I'm sure it won't happen again. I took care of it. I don't need your protection."
"I know." She just grins up at him as if she doesn't believe that. "I mean, I do know you can handle yourself. But I like to protect you." Old habits and all…
"It's sweet but unnecessary." She kisses at his neck. Everything is feeling much better now that she's spent some time with Cam. "Daniel's ability to have children has probably been compromised."
She realizes her mistake as she watches his eyes widen in disbelief. "Daniel, as in Jackson?"
"I-"
"Vala." He's pissed now. One of his team. Someone she is supposed to trust did this to her. "Did Daniel do this?"
"He was a little upset about…" She bites her lower lip and looks away. "Upset about us."
His fingers tip her chin back and make her look at him. She averts her eyes. "Look at me." Only briefly does he see her hesitate. "What did he say?"
"Cameron." She changes tactics. Her lips brush his again. "It's not a big deal, alright? He was just surprised."
"You've got marks on both arms." She kisses him again but it's not going to distract him from the fact that another man has injured his girlfriend. "Talk to me."
She hesitates and looks around. "Can we… Can we go to quarters?" His office is cold and it's too much like Daniels in feel. It's uncomfortable. If she's going to be open, to talk to him she wants to be some place helps soothe her.
"Yeah. I'm basically done here anyway." He pulls her BDU shirt back on to cover the marks. He's wary of what people might think even though he knows it wasn't him to leave them on her. He leads her out with a palm on the small of her back.

Vala changes into her comfy pajamas when they get to her room. He doesn't have much there yet, just an old T-shirt that he throws on and then just strips down to his boxers. She's already in bed when he climbs in next to her. He props a pillow behind his back and she's curled up against his chest almost immediately.
Cam waits for her to settle before talking. "He's jealous, isn't he?"
"It's completely absurd." She's tracing the faded lines on the Air Force academy shirt. "He had a hundred chances…"
"It's nice to have someone want you that much." Cam kisses her forehead. A flare of jealousy shoots through his belly. Even though she's with him right now, it wasn't him that she was pining after for so long. It hurts when he thinks about it. "I can understand… But he hurt you, baby..."
He pulls the sleeve on her T-shirt up so he can gently trace the edges of the bruise.
"I've had worse. Don't worry, Cameron." A shiver passes over her as she watches him draw on her arm. It feels good. He cares about what happens to her, how she's treated. It's been a long time since anyone has. If anyone ever really has.
That sort of philosophy makes him ache for her. "You shouldn't be hurt by people that are supposed to be your friends. No matter how much worse you've had it in the past. It's not okay."
She swings her leg over his lap and climbs on, laying against his chest, head tucked under his chin. Her arms push behind him and she hugs him. Cam starts rubbing circles along her spine and she breathes deeply. His scent is wonderful, the sound of his heart beats clearly under her ear and the hot puff of his breath tickles her hair.
"He yelled at me… Asked if I was going to go after Teal'c next." She can feel him tense under her and she kisses his chest. "He told me I belonged to him and that's when I got angry."
"You belong to him?" Cam's voice is shaky with anger. "To him?"
"Now don't get too possessive, Cameron Mitchell. I don't belong to you either." Vala sits up and holds his face in her hands. "More so than him but…"
He regains some control before speaking. "I don't want to own you, honey. I just want to be with you."
"I want to be with you too."
"Do you think it will be an issue for him?" Cam's got a lock of hair between his fingers and he's letting the silk slide through them. Her hair is so soft, so think, so lovely.
Vala leans into his palm and he cups her face. "I don't care if it is."
"He can't just grab you though. I won't stand around while he manhandles my girlfriend."
She grins at the sentiment. "Believe me. He'll think twice before grabbing me again. I'm sure he'll be icing his sensitive areas for a couple days."
He smirks and pulls her in to kiss her. He gets the side of her mouth first before locking lips with her. She's soft and warm and pliable and his. Despite what she wants him to think. There's a part of him that does want to own her. Just as much as he wants to be owned by her. He's pretty sure it's a sign that he's beyond the point of no return.
"You tired, Princess?" She sighs against his chest as she falls back against him after they break the kiss. "Stressful day."
Vala's nodding her head and yawning. "I could sleep… or we could…" She rocks her hips against his and he moans in reaction.
"I'm not sure if we should after what happened today. I kinda feel like I just want to hold you." His grip tightens around her to emphasize his desire.
"You could be convinced." She can feel him interested beneath her.
A laugh escapes him. "I'm sure you could do it. I just feel like…" He's not sure how to explain it. "It's like I shouldn't want that tonight."
"Nothing wrong with sex, Cam." She inches upwards and rocks her hips harder against his cock. He's definitely more interested. His neck is right there and she scrapes her teeth on the skin before kissing the slight irritation away.
"There's not, no, you're right, but sometimes it's nice just to be with each other."
"Nakedly?" Vala grins and her nose bumps his chin as she explores his adams apple with her tongue.
He chuckles and holds onto her waist before flipping them over. He's pressing her into the bed and she instantly approves of the new position. He lightly kisses her lips before sliding off her body.
"Can I just hold you tonight, baby?" Cam spoons her to him and tugs the covers over them. Her hand grips his and pulls herself closer to him. "I'd just feel better about it."
Vala doesn't mind skipping sex. It's just not something she's used to from men. Not wanting to bed her. "That will be wonderful."
"Good. Maybe in the morning…."
"Mmm yes, morning orgasms." She feels him twitch behind her at the mention of it. She smirks thinking that they may not make it till then. She can't say that doesn't please her. For now she'll happily sleep in his arms.
