So i feel it is time for an update...

In random exciting news...Anna has this friend Jessica and stephanie told me this bad ass story about her. So i guess this jessica woman was in new york over thanksgiving break and in a store that sold kitchen goodness. So she was there shopping and she looks over and who does she see!!!!

JOHN KRASINSKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know right!!!!

so i guess she walked over to him and was like "hey...im a fan...blah blah blah" and i guess he was SUPER nice (which validates my life...don't ask) and i guess he said that he was getting stuff together to cook his family thanksgiving dinner which he had never done before. i guess they talked cooking and she got a picture with him.

seriously that is just so cool! and i am filled with jealousy, but at the same time i'm just happy to hear he is actually cool in real life because i would be so sad if he just played a wonderful character and then ended up being an ass in real life. so yay! oh how i love the office.

so in other news...

yesterday i hung out with anna for the first time in forever. ever since she called me on my birthday about a month ago she has been inviting me to things. so i guess yesterday it finally happened. i went over to her house (which is very cute) and ate dinner that her and her roommate megan (who is really cool) made. we then joined her other roommate and watched the wizard of oz (which i have actually never seen) with pink floyds dark side of the moon (which ive never really listened too in full). i was the only one not stoned (never again after that horrible time in feb of 06), but did get plenty drunk. You always hear stories about how strange is, but unless you've seen it you don't really get the full feeling of it. it was bad ass i must admit. very worth seeing.

today i went and saw the golden compass with ray. i'm currently reading the first book, which is amazing and so intricate. the movie was alright. i'm not all the way through the book so it did give me some insiders info that may spoil the book a bit, but i was entertained so that at least made it worth my 5 bucks

i dunno. i used to be an insane movie snob and wouldn't bother to see anything that was less than my taste. now i try to look at movies objectively in the sense that not all movies are art...which is sad in a lot of ways...but because they are not art you can't really hold them to the same standards of movies that are. so i guess i break it down to this. sometimes movies are for entertainment, often mind numbingly so, but entertainment all the same (and to bring studios money). and along these same lines some movies are true films. they are trying to convey something. the director or writer or other various people involved are trying to leave their mark on cinema and put their talents out there. Leaving me to the idea that some movies are brain candy and some are true works of art that hope to impact or move the viewer. And hey everyone needs a little candy sometimes. i guess it's what sets the great apart from the okay.

anyways so that is my rant and the movie code i live by these days. and don't get me wrong. i will never claim that a brain candy movie is good or a true film. i will merely state...it was entertaining as i'm sure it was intended to be.

Oh and on a final note. i started listening more to widr the wmu radio station. sometimes it's odd and sometimes it's crap, but ever so often you'll catch it when some great tunes are on...and today was one of them.

really today is a good day.
