My little sister and I were reading "Aurthor's Halloween" at the library yesterday, and we came across a word she didn't know. Cemetery. I asked her she knew what a cemetery was- and she didn't. I then had to explain to her what it was. I told her when people die they are buried in a cemetery, so that their loved ones can come and visit them.
She then responded by telling me about her grandfather who was in an urn not a cemetery. I explained to her that is because he was cremated. Then I had to explain what it meant to be cremated. She then said he wasn't burned up he just died, which to that I had to explain his body was burned after he died. So whew that was enough right.....but this girl says the strangest things...
Her grandmothers house was burned down and I guess her grandfather's urn exploded in the fire. Her grandmother, as you can guess, was very upset by this. Fire burning up everything she cherished and all even her dead husband. So my little sister said that as she was helping to clean up she picked up a rock and said, "Hey Grandma I found Grandpa's heart."
I guess the rock was heart shaped.
I must be a very sick person, because I find this funny. Can you imagine?
