I am rather worried that we are as a country still getting dumber. Newspapers (the printed kind) allow people of all walks of life and all economic backgrounds access to information. Computers cost more money than most of the lower class can afford. I really believe there is short sided argument to online journalism. Most bloggers have not learned the principles that in some ways have kept newspapers left of center for so many years. They generally come from a middle class background and have had access to computers most of their life. Most of your favorite authors have written for newspapers. Frank Herbert wrote for the Seattle P.I. I think we a starting to see Ray Bradbury's predictions come true. I worry that we are so stupid we will even give up our books for an electronic edition. Face it the value of the written just went down. Hard Drive fail CPU's die try to destroy a book. They are not susceptible to E.S.D. and they last thru almost anything! Just a thought!
