I have been compiling reference imagery of women of different races so that I can illustrate my fashions being worn by women who are not white, or white looking figures who are colored in in brown *glares at textbook that claims to help one draw varying ethnicities*. I took the time yesterday to compile a good collection of a variety of reference imagery of different black women via modelmayhem. I can't get modelmayhem to work for me today, so I tried deviantart, reluctantly, to try to look up reference imagery of Asian women. MISTAKE. I now want to hunt down and burn alive this white chick who thought it would be a good idea to post stock of her wearing a cheap ass pseudo-Chinese dress holding an imitation Japanese sword with chopsticks in her hair and geta on her feet (indoors, no less). Down to various "martial arts" and "hara kiri" poses. Holy shit, what a disgusting ball of cultural appropriation and rolling different ethnic characteristics into an incredibly offensive genericized Other. Actually, I would now like to dismember a whole bunch of white chicks with Chinese dresses and fake Japanese swords because the vast majority of photos in stock > models > female > full body with the keyword "Asian" are said morons. Jesus fucking Christ I hate people sometimes.
