Learn to draw!

And this is why I needed to attend, if not SCAD, then art school with a fashion major: I have all these ideas in my head and I can't draw them. This is especially frustrating because I get half formed ones all the time-- the mere mention of hey, maybe you could do something steampunk? is enough to set all sorts of stuff firing-- and if I could only draw it, I could probably figure out what my idea actually is. I haven't gone through with the teal dress yet, because I'm waffling on two different sleeve treatments (flare from the armscye, or loosely fitted to the elbow and THEN the major voluminousness) and various waistline treatments (tuck darts? a same-fabric waist belt/sash? back shirring) to create enough fittedness that it doesn't look like a muumuu. If I could just draw out the variants, I could probably figure out which one was best. I have this idea for a skirt with tons of horizontal tucks, loosely inspired by.. crap... was it Prada or Dolce that had the skirts that gave me the idea? Maybe even Balenciaga? Ah damn. I remember they were plaid, had lots of horizontal tucks, looked very full if not full circle, and were below knee to calf length, I think...

Whatever, all that said, I hope my Drawing 2 teacher doesn't expect us to actually draw tomorrow. Since, yknow, she just uploaded the syllabus like an hour ago and half the dorms currently don't even have internet. And I'm going to have to start going to Dr. Sketchy's whenever I can.
