Employment.

Matt starts his job Monday. Good things: high pay rate, full time, easy work, seven minutes away from the house, on the way to the recycling center. Which is helpful because Savannah is way behind the times and doesn't get curbside recycling til January. Neutral things: Split shift, four hours, then three hours off, then four more hours. "Professional" environment so he's gonna need more clothes that aren't frayed cargo shorts and tie dyed shirts. Bad thing: temporary, 3-5 weeks, with the "potential to go full time." Everyone who's ever done a temp job like that that I know has gone on to make it a permanent or long term position, but that's no guarantee.

Trials and tribulations of starting said job: Drive 2.5 hours to Charleston. Spend 2.5 hours filling out ungodly amounts of paperwork. Spend an hour going to the drug testing place. Start to come home. Experience rain so heavy it causes wipers to fail, try to pull off the highway blind, end up in an exit, causing an hour's delay.
