http://mspaintadventures.wikia.com/wiki/Terezi_PyropeGENDER: female in all of the ways
APPEARANCE: gray skin, orange-yellow horns and fingernails, red eyes, extremely sharp teeth. otherwise she is humanoid.
PERSONALITY & HOUSE REQUESTS:
Terezi is a strategist, preferring to guide others from behind the scenes rather than jump into action herself. She exhibited a deep sense of cunning and ambition from an early age, as she manipulated teams of troll children into tearing themselves apart and then fed them to her partner's lusus during bouts of extreme roleplaying on her home planet. Her actions during these scenarios were her way of preparing herself for a career as a legislacerator--she targeted trolls who had committed "crimes" of cheating the game or taking advantage of other players. She also spent much of her time before SGRUB studying law texts, also in pursuance of that eventual career and evidence of her natural ambition.
As the Seer of Mind in SGRUB, Terezi's natural ability to read people and understand their thoughts and motivations was augmented by visions of the future which showed her doomed timelines to be avoided. Terezi used these visions to guide her friends through the game, taking action whenever necessary to avoid falling into a doomed timeline. Terezi also orchestrated political coups during the game, manipulating the various game NPCs in order to help her allies win. These traits make her an excellent fit for Slytherin.
Before Terezi lost her eyesight, she was somewhat reserved and reveled in quiet trickery. After she lost her sight, however, she underwent a mostly superficial personality change. Where she was once quietly calculating she became loud and forceful, showing part of her hand during tricky situations to throw off her opponents. However, her loud speech, wild laughter and outrageous actions are, for the most part, projected. On the inside she remains the same calculating and ambitious troll she always has been, and when the situation is right she drops the "act" and acts more like her old self.
In tough situations, Terezi shows a startling amount of inner strength and courage. After being blinded on a world where disabilities can be deadly, instead of giving up hope Terezi buckled down and learned how to survive. And when times truly get tough, such as when she is forced to confront Vriska and make a choice between killing her once-friend or allowing Jack Noir to find their hiding place and kill them all, she finds the inner courage to do what is right over what is easy. Her loud and bright personality and this inner courage would also make her a decent Gryffindor.
I would prefer Slytherin, but it won't be the end of my world if she ends up in Gryffindor instead.
COMMUTER DETAILS: Her commuter will not be tapped.
POSITION: student
ORIENTATION: Terezi is only thirteen, but since she involves herself in romantic relationships (or tries to), I'll go ahead and fill this out. It is stated in canon that trolls don't really have a concept of homosexuality/heterosexuality like humans do--it is considered normal to accept any gender romantically in their culture. Canonically Terezi shows the most romantic interest in males (i.e. Dave, Karkat and Gamzee), but she also flirts with females (Rose and to an extent Vriska) so by human terms she would probably be considered bisexual.
ABILITIES & POWERS: Though Terezi is blind, she can "see" through her sense of smell. Odors present to her as colors, painting a picture of her surroundings. The closer Terezi is to something and the stronger the smell is, the clearer the image is to her. She can also clearly see screen images (for example, images on a computer screen) by licking the screen--her saliva apparently unlocks the scent of the colors on the screen. Terezi can also smell deceit (such as verbal lies) and can sometimes learn things about a person's personality through the scent of how they move; for example, she describes the movements of a particular villain in the series as smelling "oily". These are skills that she was taught by her lusus and she spent several years mastering them.
In addition to that, Terezi has a natural talent for getting into peoples' heads--not as literally as a mind-reader, but she has a special talent for reading people and understanding their motivations, getting under their metaphorical skin. Additionally, since entering the world of SGRUB, she sometimes receives vivid visions of things to come that can be altered, such as outcomes to events she is in the midst of that would end in herself dying.
Terezi is also well-versed in combat and martial arts, having grown up in a hostile environment without a guardian. She went into SGRUB with plenty of combat experience, and while playing the game climbed to the top of her echeladder (think of it as reaching a high level in a standard RPG). The walking cane that she uses to navigate her environment doubles as a weapon.
Terezi also carries a sylladex, which is kind of like a portable hammerspace inventory. It holds things like her art supplies, toys, alternate outfits and other various miscellaneous items of varying importance.
Considering that her main strengths are of the mind, she would probably be best at subjects such as Charms, History, Arithmancy, maybe Transfiguration...areas in which mental acuity and studiousness bring better results than brute force. As an aside, she also enjoys astronomy as a hobby--she uses a smelloscope to "see" stars and planets in the night sky.
WAND: firm, medium length hornbeam wand with dragon heartstring core. The hornbeam fits her singular obsession with justice, and considering her affiliation with dragons through her lusus it would be impossible for her not to make a connection with the dragon-based core. Strongest in charms and transfiguration.
MISC.: trolls are nocturnal and sensitive to sunlight, so although the Earth's sun is not nearly as intense as Alternia's Terezi may have some trouble adjusting her sleep schedule and to time spent outdoors.
WRITING SAMPLESFIRST PERSON:
Voice
So this is Earth. It's not as impressive as I thought it might be, but there are plenty of interesting smells! Hehehehe.
Okay but seriously. The premise of this exercise seems to be pretty straightforward, right? Be the hero, defend the school! Ahaha! I have to admit I'm a little disappointed that the endgame requirement isn't given. Unless it has something to do with quidditch, whatever that is.
So! I am ready for this challenge. If it's what it takes for me to get back to my incredibly important business back in my own universe, then I will simply have to be the best hero-student there is! This should be a fun game.
THIRD PERSON:
Though in retrospect it had been embarrassing to flee the computer room, Terezi didn't slow down until she was several hallways away from the rest of the group and, more importantly, Karkat. She needed to be alone so that she could think, and--more importantly--so that she could cry without anyone else seeing or hearing her. It wasn't worth it to show such a weakness to the others.
She sat on the edge of one of the many seemingly bottomless pits in the lab and wiped her eyes. She knew that she had done the right thing with Dave--tricking him into splitting his timeline was the only way to show him that he couldn't achieve godtier. It was obvious. And it wasn't like it was the alpha Dave that had died. But still...Terezi felt like she had betrayed him. Like she had killed him without reason, and where was the justice in that? At least when she had killed John and caused the timeline to branch it hadn't been on purpose.
Really, she told herself after a moment of near-brooding, she had saved Dave's life. Even if it meant sacrificing another version of himself. Even if that doomed Dave had trusted her.
Even if it meant that the alpha Dave would probably never trust her again.
Terezi sighed and covered her face with her hands. She didn't know if what she had done was right. But she knew she had to figure it out soon.
After all, their time before the end of the universe was swiftly running out.
