[ There are chains here heavier than any Kakashi's ever felt before, snaking and tightening and choking around him in a crush that has the Hitomi shaking in his hand. This is--
(The pain and pleasure and need and grief is too much, too much, colliding within him, too much, and Kakashi thinks he's going to go crazy if he keeps feeling this.)
This is not what he expected, though he's not sure if he expected anything to begin with, and Sasuke's voice is still whispering in his (his) ear filled with so much hatred and anger and spite and everything that isn't Sasuke because Sasuke would never, could never do something like this, be this cruel, do this (even if Itachi wants him to, thinks he should, wishes he would) to his brother (he wanted to kill him for so many years, but death is kinder than this, death is kinder than this) and Kakashi suddenly feels like he can't breathe, even with all the short, shaky breaths that he's taking.
Itachi.
His mind clears a little when it hooks onto him, remembering that look on Itachi's face, in his eyes, gleaming on the screen in the moments after. He'd seen that look on Itachi's face before. In his eyes before. Knows it too well.
Too well.
Kakashi closes his eyes.
Breathes.
Breathes.

With hands that don't shake, he shifts the Hitomi, finds Itachi's name, and makes a voice call. ]
