I knew it was comming. For all the jews out there, prepare to sit shiva, for the 1988 dodge aries k, the ghetto car loved by most but known by all, the ghetto-mobile pimped by yours truly for over a year, sadly took it's last ride on Monday September 20, 2004. It went down in a blaze of glory- literally. How does one such car of magnificence take such a turn for the worst? Well I'll tell you:
Our story begins... no the story it too long. Much too long. the basic facts are thus:
1. Monday afternoon-car is fine.
2. Shortly after, car begins to smoke.
3. Car begins emitting a sort of polluted black smog.
4. Car begins to catch fire, inside jacobs garage.
5. Father jacobs, who is injuried, attempts to roll car out of driveway, in turn smashing car against tree, shattering passanger window, tearing off mirror, and seriously damaging passenger door.
6. Car continues to burn, all the while dripping a steady fire stream-of-death from under the hood- which is still unopenable.
7. Hannah resorts to spraying car with garden hose, while also calling 911.
8. Hann and sister realize school books and whatnot are inside car, and make a valiant effort to save said stuff. attempt is successful, but painful, as sister suffered eye burns.
9. 2 fire trucks report to extinguish blaze, (must resort to pick-axing the hood open), however it takes them almost an hour, and nobody can figure out how the inferno began.
10. Car fire is put out, but damages are staggering. It's a total loss, nothing can be salvaged- save only the memories of many "yeah"'s blasted, many friends driven, many drinks spilled, many clothes stuffed... sooo many memories all twisted and melted inside the car.
Dodge Aries K- we hardly knew ye, cut down in your prime. You will be sorely missed, and none will ever take your place, not only in my heart, but my driveway as well.
