Wow, what a weekend. I can't remember the last time I had such an enjoyable weekend of pure fun and selfishness. It made me realize I should do it a LOT more often!
For those of you who might have missed it,
persephone33 and I met up over the weekend in Denver and attended the Mile High Music festival. We saw some great bands (a horrific one, too) including The Fray and yes, PAOLO Nutini. :)
I also met a relatively new friend
michelled217 who happens to be a LONG time Paolo fan so that was such a treat as well. And, I'd like to mention I only assaulted her just once when I saw Paolo up close the first time.
Carrie rocked--she was the ultimate fan support. After the concert when we saw Paolo out by the security barrier I rushed over and was waiting to see him. When I did and realized he was just feet away I turned and was all like, "Carrie?!" There she was, steady and sure with the camera, and I asked Paolo if I could get a picture -and he didn't hear the first time- and so when I repeated myself he held up a finger and said, "Just one minute, I promise," I nearly died. He talked to me. So I turned to Carrie and said, "HE TALKED TO ME!" Poor woman to have to deal with me like that, but she just smiled and said, "Yes, I saw." Love her. She was so calm and not like me. :D
And then I called Sharlene and screamed so loudly it was embarrassing.
The concert itself was amazing. It's been a long time since I smiled for two hours straight. There's more, but I'll stop for now and spare you all the details. :)
Into the music. :)
Lovely Donny, by Carrie :)
Rocking Donny, by Carrie (hrm... do we see a pattern?)
Paolo and his guitar. I absolutely adore Paolo and his guitar pictures. :)
Truly horrid pic of me, but I honestly don't care. I wanted to show you all proof. Heeee!
Paolo at the security banner, everyone wanting a piece of him...
Anyway, I could go on posting pics of Paolo all day. It was hard to get good ones of him when he was on stage because my camera's not the best and the sun was shining from behind them, but oh well. It was a super fabulous time.
Also, I need to pimp Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam. He's a youngster like Paolo with a truly amazing voice. If you get a chance to check him out, you'd be silly not to.
Me and Carrie! At last! After knowing each other online for almost three years and being close for nearly two, we finally got to meet. Much fun was had and I can't wait to plan a trip next year.
