Head banging, fudge and the tooth fairy

Oct 18, 2008 01:04

I really don't post often enough.  Mostly because I'm busy doing other things that take up my time, but I'm going to try to make an effort to be more diligent.

I'm giving you all a choice. Take it. Run! )

Five dollars! Your tooth fairy is generous!

Head banging in the car with the kids... Every mother should do this at least once *g*

I agree. Although it made me a bit dizzy...

Mohamed has this incredibly idealized view of life in UT, but I don't think it includes families head banging on the freeway.

You know, I would love to say, "Shut up! I knew that!" But I'd drifted off in my head trying to calculate when I read the last sentence of that paragraph.

I'm sending Ethan and AJ up for Mosh pit lessons. I had my fill of those by 1992. And I'm delicate.

And thanks to maureen, Ethan and Aaron have headbanged to Mental Health by Quiet Riot. Good Times.

Pork noodle soup for the win! Though I thought I heard Becca proclaim that she "wasn't eating that."

Better Becca HEAR that song than SEE it. EEEK. And it might be a little healthy to be skeptical of a man's fidelity. Maybe not at age six.....

Have you ever got your hair pulled in a mosh pit? I've seen girls get their heads yanked on pretty hard and I remember being grateful I had short hair then. Sorry for the random thought. :D

And you did hear her state that, very imperiously too, but in the end she caved. Thank goodness James and Emma were on my side--it might not have gone so well.

And it's all good today. She was singing 'lucky I'm in love with my best friend...' today. A definite step UP!

I got as banged up as any other fool in the early nineties willing to go into a mosh pit. Man, there are times I'm SO glad to be a grown up. :)

Cheers, seegrim! Etta James wins. I love the way she belts out that song.

I had such a lean month once when mine was losing her teeth, I didn't even have spare change for the tooth fairy. So I glued together a ladybug pin instead. Of course, she had no siblings so I could pull off that stunt. The story of precedence is well-advised. Of course, most parents don't realize that whatever happens to the oldest child sets the trend for life!

Relax. At least Becca doesn't know what she means. It's like earworms. Put another song with a catchy refrain in its place, without drawing any untoward attention to it, and she will turn to that.

On my ipod I have Celine Dion's version of that right before Etta's and I just skip it now. It's a pale imitation.

How sweet! A ladybug pin. I dare say that meant far more than money. You are such an amazing mother, Phae. If I lived anywhere close to you, I would glomp onto you for the very least good mothering tips.

And true enough, Becca was already singing another song today, as I told persephone33. She was singing a line from a duet by Colbie Callait and Jason Mraz, "Lucky". Darn cute, too.

Hee! My kids get a quarter from the tooth fairy. It was all I had when Amber lost her first one, though D refuses to leave them out for the tooth fairy- he says that they are his. *sighs* Boys!

Fergie covered Barracuda? *blinks* I guess that shows what radio stations I don't listen to, doesn't it? And HEE! Mine head bang like champs because D's favourite song was 'Welcome to the Black Parade' and I had to teach them, lol! Mosh pit lessons *shudder* Can I send mine to you for those?

Ohh fudge! Yum! I need to bake something to take to the family party tomorrow and just might have to go with fudge, since I am craving it now and all. ;) And *nods* I have come up with different combinations like that before, some win and some were failures.

*giggles* D is currently running around the house singing this... *facepalm* My version so isn't the edited one...

Why is everyone afraid of the Mosh Pitt. That was society's pinnacle of good music, man. Nirvana. Pearl Jam. HELLO. ;)

and holy heck, yes D doesn't like giving up his teeth. I was on the PHONE that day and thought my ears were going to fall off, srsly!

Your stories about your kids never fail to amuse me.

Do you know what grossed me out about the whole tooth fairy thing and keeping the teeth? I don't think I've ever thrown any away. Which means I must have tens of little teeth all over the place.

Ew. I just shuddered.

Actually, we've moved quite a bit, I'm sure I've thrown them out. I hope...

My favorite fudge recipe is just hershey bars and mini marshmallows and lots of sugar. Yummy.
