This is where I'll be

For a variety of reasons, I have decided to make my journal friends only. This is mostly due to my thoughts on private life vs public life and online life/persona vs real life/personality. I'm not elitist though - add me as a friend or email me if you want me to add you to my friends list and I'll usually get in contact with you or add you back.

Interesting. Is this partly in response to the discussion at your place on Saturday night?

I do the same with my personal posts. That's partly for artistic reasons (Haiku Journal, etc etc), partly because I'm actually a rather private person, but mostly because there are some completely Belgium entities who read LJ, whom I have no wish to share my life with (unless it's the bit involving them choking and dying, of course).

Cool. paula_angela May 24 2004, 05:28:44 UTC
Much as I wish it wasn't, privacy is important.
There's always someone who'll take you out of context - so having a "friends only" journal puts you back in control.

I didn't actually feel that I *had* to explain myself, but I wanted to anyway.
