Most of the stories you have planned seem like they're fantasy, usually with teenage protagonists. For some reason, I guess that's not my type of thing, unless it's a video game... but even these days, I am suffering from some sort of anti-Tales disease, especially anti-ToA. I don't know what it is, but all of a sudden anything ToA makes me cringe. I guess I'll like it again one day, but not anytime soon.
I like when stories have many elements from multiple genres. When a story is just two or one, I tend to lose interest, unless the characters and writing are compelling. This is why the fact that I like Harry Potter (although I'm not a huge fan) surprises me, because it's kind of the type of thing I usually wouldn't.
I thought you wrote best when you did your slice-of-life blurbs. Those were amazing. I love magical realism and I thought your style was reminiscent of that genre. I am saying this even though I remember you told me that every story you want to write has fantasy elements and you can't help it. But maybe one day, many years from now, you'll want and be able to write something more in that type.
Wow, Teddy, what a tough question. I am completely failing at giving you a right answer. It seems the only thing I can offer is what I don't like. How negative.
