police + thieves, oh yeah
someone broke into our apartment and stole my laptop, our digital camera, ps2 + games, my bookbag + flor bag. tear. we had to call the cops which really can't do anything and didn't leave us too hopeful in getting our stuff back. apparently theres a huge waiting list for break-ins, and not enough money for the city to pay the cops to give a shit. though im pretty sure my parents put my laptop under their insurance since i was living in the dorm awhile ago.. and monday we'll find out if it will cover it. it will suck if not.
we both feel pretty violated. its just kind of disturbing. our landlord is being very helpful and is apparently going to do his own "investigating", as he called it, about our stuff. he's also putting up bars on the windows on the porch which is where they came in from.
i pretty much have all my stuff on my laptop backed up on cd's from when i reformatted earlier in july i think. but my bookbag and the flor bag i assume they used to carry the shit out? but they didnt dump anything out and it pisses me off cause its all my shit from this semester, my notes and everything. why they need that shit? and in the flor bag: a lot of zines + condoms + other info from tabling this past week. ugh.
