This week was a good weather week and good fitness week. Got in three swims, and a fun game of ultimate frisbee on Thursday night - from which I wasn't even sore this morning. The weather has been delightful, and I'm happy to be having a chance to take advantage of it. The only downside was having to wait about ten minutes for a lane at Spring Hill this afternoon (since the Wakefield pool is down for annual draining, cleaning and maintenance, with
mastshade expected to resurface among the land of the living sometime early this coming week when they're done) and then having the battery on my MP3 player conk out about five minutes into my swim. Guess I should've charged it sooner - since I can't remember the last time I did, I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised. But I was finally back to normal distance and pace, for the first time since before the Bethany Beach trip a month ago, so that was good.
It was also a pleasant surprise to go by the Rockport store at Tysons this afternoon and find that they had replacements for my well-worn work shoes (two pairs, brown and black) in stock in my size, and even on sale. I stopped by after the swim to give the traffic a few more minutes to clear out, and sure enough it worked. This being Friday before a long weekend, traffic from Tysons to here was wide open at 5:30 when I left the mall; I made it in near record time (though anyone going the other way on the beltway wasn't so lucky - it was backed up from 123 - or more likely the Legion Bridge - all the way back to Gallows).
I'm looking forward to a long weekend and getting to sleep in tomorrow!
