Money will always haunt me;
It's what tore my parents apart.
Wherever I go, it will follow,
But I live on both sides of  town.

Mom says, "Dad's rich" and "he should pay"
She says, "do what you wish, my dear, but
Don't throw your life away."
And I'm driving to her.

Dad says, "Mom's not so poor as she makes you think"
Am I living in a pool of lies?
So it seems. He says, "Swim where you won't sink."
& I'm swimming in between.

I live on both sides of town.
The weather will fool you where he is.
The cloudy skies and slow mist may get you down
But drive on, My Girl, just live.

I'm not so sure about Emerson anymore. It's so expensive, even with the scholarship.
