everything in America looks like a dream to me. after being in mexico for a couple, everything looks like its out of a movie. the houses, the people, everyything. it's so cool. it's like, looking at it through new eyes.
I really have grown to realize how much we have here. And how glad I am that I live in America. I'm glad being able to vote was one of the first things I got to do upon arriving. Coming out of the voting booth was like, feeling like I really was a part of the US again.
I know there's a lot of undesirable things about the US but really, Mexico has a lot more. They work tons and receive little to no money. The men generally don't respect their wives or children. It was so sad to see so many families like that. I'm glad I grew up in a family where I know both of my parents love me and paid attention to me. You know, you never really understand what you have until you see that someone else doesn't. I try not to feel bad about my own circumstances when I know out there millions of people suffer much more than I do and it makes the burden a lot lighter.
