They were back in the cabins. The last time they'd been in cabins hadn't been bad so Jonas was optimistic about this time around as well. The space was smaller but Jonas didn't have a lot of things anyway. It didn't take long to unpack his few clothes, some books, and other odds and ends before he'd filled the empty space with his sparse clutter.
With that done, he sat down on his bed to start a letter to Gabe. His brother, Jonas had learned, enjoyed getting mail even if a phone call was easier. It made him feel like a grown up and he could show off his letter to everyone else in the small village. He could regal people with stories of his older brother and Jonas wasn't one to deny him little pleasures like that even if someone had to read the letter to Gabe.
Dear Gabe, he started, already smiling. Letters like this were enjoyable to write.
